Spurrier follows through on his word: Bans team from using twitter...

But, first of all, so many jokes, so little time...

"He just told us not to use it any more," said linebacker Shaq Wilson, who has a Twitter account. "He said, 'Let your girlfriend do your Twitter.'

I do find this a little odd. Not the actually act itself of banning the team from using twitter, but in things he's allowed second chances on in the past.

its cool for Garcia to be an alcoholic and keep coming back despite being suspended 5 times and its okay for their QB coach to get drunk and piss in the street but they cant TWEET? glad ole Stevey has his priorities straight over there.

I think we will most likely see more schools making it a rule that a player cannot use twitter. I would not be surprised if Coach Saban enforces a similar rule soon for his players since CS likes to have control over what information gets out about his team. I would like to think that you could teach players to be more disciplined and thoughtful about what they tweet but Coach Spurrier is probably correct when he says, "Well, we have some dumb, immature players that put crap on their Twitter, and we don't need that. So the best thing to do is just ban it". What do you guys think? Read the article about the twitter ban on the Dr. Saturday blog.

^^ idk ive literally never seen ANY of the guys (Julio, Ingram, Dont'a, Lacy, Blake & Phillip Sims, Barrett Jones, etc.) ever say anything 'inside' about Bama. really only stuff about the team is like "tough practice today" or "good practice" things like that. mainly its just personal stuff. sometimes some of the guys say certain things i wish they didnt in terms of their language just because the media could use it against them.

agree with you about some things being appropriate.

kinda like the whole potential employer could use what you say on social media sites against you...I don't have an issue with that. I'm sure some will post about freedom of speech, etc. I kinda believe in yeah, you can say what you feel, but know that people are judging you based on what you say.

I know I've said plenty of stupid things in my lifetime...and will continue to say them I'm sure. whats that saying, better to be thought a fool...
