Vandy is trying to get that first win versus a ranked opponent.

23-10 Vandy (before the PAT kick)

Yeah, Vandy looks good!!!

Honestly I thought their spread looked pretty bad much of the night. USC does have speed on defense if nothing else. Vandy is just making more big-time plays when it counts most, but offensively, they've looked very suspect much of the night.

I pulled for 'em though and am going to be glad to see a win if it happens.

Told you they look good--good enough to beat SC 2 years in a row!!! WOW, how familiar is that to the Bama Nation with Miss State?

i was at this game, and vandy looked pretty bad on offense. They really could do nothing. South Carolina just kept giving the game to vandy with all of there TO's. Vanderbuilt is still the worst team in the SEC, but likes to get some upsets.

Let's put this in perspective:

'Bama has not lost to Vandy in 20 years.

In 48 years, Alabama has lost 2 games to Vandy.

Historically, yes.

However, Vandy now sits in the lead for the SEC.

Vandy wasn't the worst team in the SEC in 2007, that went to Ole Miss. Vandy very well may not be the worst team in the SEC in 2008. I still have major doubt Arkansas will win one SEC game.

* Firestorm, I told you watching that NFL game was a waste of time.

Say what you want, blame it on who you want, or be as optimistic or pessimistic as you want, but the Spurrier Era is done at USC. It's highly unlikely he'll be back after this season. This loss has just as much negative implications as the Navy game did in 1984.

we need someone who knows how to ****ing coach. our offense needs to evolve. we don't need this dinosaur of a coach that hasn't proven anything since he's been here. i'll always be a gamecock but i have no loyalty to spurrier. he didn't show me anything with the 'skins and he's not doing a damn thing now. i hope he retires next season. **** this.

I'm sorry to all the believers, but we'll be 3 - 9 this year. Pulling a Notre Dame.

I like Steve Spurrier alot and I think he is one of the best coaches in the SEC.

What did USC fans think before they got him? Surely it wasnt these big seasons, or that they were a top tier program.Actually, have they ever won the SEC?

It seems to me that when they hired Spurrier they forgot one thing: That they are, in fact, South Carolina.

I look at their recruits and the fact that for the last two years they had to rely on pretty mucha backup qb in smelley. He has his moments, but hes inconsistent, I am sure if Spurrier had someone better, theyd be out there. Its hard to recruit there I would imagine. Right next door you have Clemson, which is a more popular program. I mean, even Nick Saban couldnt turn Duke into the USC(al)s of the world.

Not saying they cant get to that level, but thats a way longterm building project.

Wow. I watched the first half and Vandy was horrible on offense. That is great that they came back and won the game.

Think I would have learned my lesson already. I turned off the UCLA and Tenn game after halftime as well.

Dr. Lou said that Carolina has the best defense in the SEC. That score must be a misprint. :P

It was funny when he said that because Mark May, I believe, followed with "Did you not see Alabama against Clemson?".

If Spurrier is such a great recruiter, why can't he at least get 1 good qb out of all of these years there. Isn't there at least 1 good qb in the whole state (not to mention NC, which doesn't have a good football program) that would want to play for Spurrier? I mean, come on, he never had great qbs at Florida, but at least they could play his system.
