The Crimson Tide defeats the Ragin’ Cajuns, 3-0, and the Hawkeyes, 12-3

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.
– Alabama softball took home two wins Friday at the Spring Break Showdown, shutting out Louisiana, 3-0, before hitting five home runs en route to a 12-3 win in six innings over Iowa.

In the first game of the day, Alabama (18-6) and Louisiana (11-9) were scoreless through three innings until an RBI triple from Brooke Ellestad and a two-run homer from Marlie Giles put the Crimson Tide in the run column in the bottom of the fourth. That proved enough cushion for Jocelyn Briski in the circle (6-5), as she went the distance with the three-hit shutout, her first career complete game shutout.

Iowa (14-6) got on the board in the opening frame of game two with an RBI single but the Crimson Tide responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning with a pair of home runs from Kali Heivilin and Ellestad to move ahead 4-1. The Hawkeyes got two unearned runs in the top of the third, but Alabama answered right back in the bottom half again with Heivilin's second homer of the day, a two-run shot to left to make it 6-3. Catelyn Riley got in on the home run action with a solo shot in the fifth to make it 7-3, and then brought home another run in the sixth after an RBI single to right field. Later in the same inning, a wild pitch to score Alexis Pupillo and an RBI triple from Kali Heivilin made it 10-3 before Ellestad ended the game early with a two-run home run to bring the final score to 12-3.

From Head Coach

"Jocelyn Briski had her first complete game shutout as an Alabama pitcher in the first game. She pitched in and out of trouble to preserve the shutout. In the second game, batters four through six collectively, had five home runs and a bunch of RBIs. It was amazing to watch"

Nice win in game 1 today, Bama over Iowa 5-1. Iowa starter came in with a 11-1 record, 0.83 ERA. Tide bats got to her in the 4th and put up 3 runs. An odd decision by Pruitt not to slide into 3rd on a force play almost cost Bama 5th, but it was challenged and overturned (which led to more 2 runs and the Iowa HC getting tossed). Still, little things like that need to be cleaned up ASAP. Briski got the start (and win) for Bama, Braya Hodges and Alea Johnson closed it out. The 2nd game of the day against Louisiana coming up...

Why the propensity to stray from Bama's Crimson and White? Maybe they'd like to try some blue or orange for a change. Sorry if I'm out of line but I just feel betrayed when they switch up like this. Keep it pure.

Roll, Crimson Tide, Roll!

If I didn't like you I would send you to OnlyFans every time you opened your browser. While you might like that...
Sorry. I'm the kind of person that, even though I can get my part-time check direct deposited, I get satisfaction out of taking my paycheck in hand and feeling the fruits of my endeavors in cold hard cash. I'll behave. 👍 :)
BTW, what is OnlyFans?

Just don't open it in front of your wife and kids! Mostly in front of the kids.

FWIW, gray is an official UA color, though the official one is lighter... not as much charcoal. But, I'm guessing they went with the dark gray because it looked better with the old school logo than crimson did and they wanted to do it with non-whites.

You have to understand. I have a small mental breakdown every time I look at Home Depot online...much less going into the store. Lowe's is across the street. Now I'm in orange and blue territory (and headed to Ace if I can.)

The thing is...it's about like a pair of shoes. Or a mattress. Things you have to do, in person. Lumber...never trust anyone else.

Looks cool but I believe it’s the forearm strap for her elbow protection.

It's the strap to the body armor.
@BamaFan334 that would make a cool long sleeved T-shirt. You could print those, right? I don't think the word Alabama has a copyright if there's no sports reference. Hell, a long sleeved T with just the outline of the state would look nice...drop a football inside of it. Along the same lines as the "18" patches kind of thing ... you can screen print those, can't ya?
