I will maybe add more later after the basketball game, but Bama wins it 8-1. Moten got the start and the CG victory with a career high 14 K's.. Wells went yard for her team leading 16th HR of the season.
I never really got a chance to do much of a game wrap on this one. Bama sorta states off sluggish but warmed up late at the plate. NDSU isn’t loaded with talent, but they are scrappy and appear to be very well coached from what I saw. Anyway, here is the Wells HR. Absolutely BLASTED. And that’s into a strong wind.
Baseball coming out like they did shocked me. If I were in their shoes, or the ladies, even with the game in front of me...part of me is thinking about the basketball games. Ya think CKB might have mentioned Michigan this week?
That was going to be my next comment, suggestion. There are 2 or 3 girls that could move up, even if temporarily, to leadoff and be a good spark IMO. Wouldn't mind seeing Roman get a shot there personally.
Bama (now 33-2) came out ready to play and NDSU gave the Tide some extra help with walks (9) and errors (5) that Bama didn't need, but only made things worse for the Bison. Pallozzi got the start and went 3 pretty easy innings for the win. Johnson pitched an inning and Hodges tossed the final frame. At the plate, Bama had 10 hits, led by freshman Ambry Taylor who hit 2 HR's (she now has 7 in just 39 AB's). Salen Hawkins added 2 hits and 4 RBI as well. This was only a 2 game series, so it's now in the books.
Next up for Bama: A 3 game series at home vs. #1 Texas that starts next Thursday.
