⚾ 🥎 🥎 Bama Softball vs. Florida State - Alabama Falls to Florida State, 5-2

Florida State wins 5-2. State Coach very impressive making the correct adjustments, especially the pitchers, after Bama took the early lead. Of course, Bama never makes adjustments. Very poorly coached team. Going to be a long season for the ladies.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball fell to Florida State, 5-2, Wednesday night at Rhoads Stadium.

Alabama (21-10) took the early lead over Florida State (26-5) with a pair of RBI singles in the first inning from Kali Heivilin and Alexis Pupillo. With two on and two out in the top of the fourth, Jahni Kerr tied the game for the Seminoles with a two-run double into the left field gap. With the score still tied in the top of the sixth, Florida State's Katie Dack pushed the visitors ahead with a three-run home run to make it 5-2. The Crimson Tide went down in order in the bottom of the sixth and the Seminoles stranded one on in a scoreless top of the seventh, with it still a three-run game heading to the home half of the seventh. However, the middle of the Alabama order was unable to put a runner on base in the final frame as the Seminoles secured the three-run victory.

From Head Coach

"Thanks to Florida State for coming on a midweek, I know it is a lot of travel. It was a good midweek game for both schools. At the end of the day, they got the big key hit and we didn't. We left too many people in scoring position. We played really good defense, so I was proud of that, and we got a great start from [Jocelyn] Briski. Hopefully that springboards us into a good weekend in College Station."
