Briski gave up a 2 run HR in the 2nd, but Brooke Wells answered it in the 3rd with a solo shot. Bama up 3-2, B3.

Bama got the win, 5-3, which on the road in the SEC is always nice. Another timely hit or two and it wouldn't have been a close game... Bama left 9 on base, and that's not factoring in 2 bases loaded DP's they hit into. They had a couple of just silly mental errors too that cost them an out or 2 (including one that would have prevented one of the bases loaded DP's). But they did enough and Wells led them with a 3-3 (plus a walk) day. In the circle, Briski wasn't as sharp as she has been up to this point... she wasn't as pinpoint with her pitches and left a couple over the plate that Ole Miss made her pay for. But the Bama defense helped her at times and she managed to get it done. She finished with the CG win, going 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, 7 K's and 2 walks.

Bama plays Ole Miss in game 2 starting in about 30 minutes...

The Tide only has 2 hits, but they've made the most of it. They lead Ole Miss 6-0, B2. Ana Roman had the big hit, a 3 run shot. Moten in the circle...

Bama wins game 2, 13-2. UA looked a bit sharper in this one. Ana Roman and Ambry Taylor both hit HR's. Brooke Wells went 6 for 6 with 2 walks in the 2 games. Moten and Pallozzi combined to limit Ole Miss to 2 runs in 6 innings. Game 3 will be on Sunday, Bama will go for the sweep...

They’re wild enough to screw up a good hitting team for a game or 2 but that’s about it.
