IMO, Mizzou is a little better than their record indicates, but they are still a bottom tier SEC team. Always hard to ask for a sweep on rhe road in the SEC, but this is a good opportunity for Alabama to bank some more league wins. If UA can play clean, keep pitching and hitting like they have been, they should be in good shape. But if Mizzou hangs around they can (and will) make it tough.

Bama wins, 2-1! Not a ton of offense today from Bama, but they got just enough. Solo HR's from Wells and Giles were enough to give Bama the win. Once again, Biski was sharp in the circle. She gave up 2 first inning hits, then no more until a 2 out solo HR in the bottom of the 7th inning. She finished with the CG, 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 5 K's, and 1 BB. SHe's now 11-0 on the season, Bama moves to 28-1 (6-1 in the SEC).

Bama started of hot at the dish with 2 solo HR's (Vandagriff & Pupillo) in the 1st innings. Unfortunately, Mizzou pitching kept them off balance, and off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Moten got the start for UA and ran into trouble in the 3rd where she gave up 3, not helped by a fielding error of her own. Mizzou added a run in the 4th and Moten was replaced by Pallozzi to start the 5th. Mizzou kept the pressure on with their bats and UA had some tough plays on defense they didn't make (not errors, but plays they normally make). Tigers added an insurance run in the 6th. Bama had a chance to tie to take the lead in the 7th with the heart of the order up and girls on the bases. Mizzou strul out Wells on a low called 3rd strike for out 2, an out/pitch that got Murphy ejected. Pupillio then got on to load the bases with 2 outs for Roman, but she lined out to SS to end the game. Bama ended the game 0-10 at the plate with runners on, which makes it 0-16 for the weekend. Though I will say, it techincelly should be 1-10 today as the scorer screwed Pupillo out of an infield single in the 7th.

Anyway, not it's time to bounce back and take the series tomorrow....

Would’ve liked the sweep this weekend. The bats are just dead this weekend. Need to reign everything back in, and win the series tomorrow. I didn’t get to listen or watch any of this one, but judging by some of the commentary I’ve read, they looked off at the plate. Mizzou pitching???? Maybe but they haven’t been great all season, pretty good but not great.
