Well, the softball gods shined on the Tide tonight in Florence... it's the 2nd night in a row that a UNA team has given Bama all they wanted on the diamond in their neck of the woods. In all honesty, UNA should have won this game 2-0. Bama had their chances throughout but left a ton of people on base... never could get the big hit. In the 7th, UNA was turning a DP to end the game and the throw was wild. That opened the door for Bama. UNA followed with another fielding error, and Bama finally broke through with 4 runs in the 7th. Then Briksi closed it out (she got the win and the save in relief) or the 4-2 win. So, all in all, a win which is nice, but but they flat out stole it. Up next, 3 at home against a good UGA squad starting Friday.
I really enjoyed going to my first Bama softball game tonight in Florence. UNA should have won the game but costly mistakes in the top of the 7th did them in. Over 3,000 in attendance! IMO, Bama is hurting in the pitching department.

Yep, they went from being hitter deficient last year to pitching deficient this year... they have good quantity in terms of arms, but not top level SEC quality. The defense has been awful too (which has made the pitching appear even worse) but here lately they've been playing much better in the field... hopefully that continues.

I’m cheap. $37 to park and get in the sports complex, I didn’t get anything to eat. I had fixed beans, cornbread and fried potatoes for an early supper.
