🏈 So who is your top 4?

Three questions I have at the moment.

1) How much is the Conference Championship game worth? Especially when Melvin Gordon average 2.9 yds with a total of 76 yds on the ground...he ran for 2336 yds this year and ONLY 76 when it really mattered.
2) Can the committee keep two Big XII teams outta the mix and feel good about it?
3) Why isn't the head to head valued more, Baylor beating TCU.

Some additional info.

Baylor

  • vs top 10 opponents 2-0 (Saragin)
  • vs top 30 opponents 3-1 (Saragin)
  • beat 5 teams with winning records
  • opponents were 68-75
  • Lost @ West Virginia 41-27.
TCU
  • vs top 10 opponents 0-1 (Saragin)
  • vs top 30 opponents 3-1 (Saragin)
  • beat 6 teams with winning records
  • opponents were 72-72
  • Lost @ Baylor 61-58.
Ohio State
  • vs top 10 opponents 1-0 (Saragin)
  • vs top 30 opponents 2-0 (Saragin)
  • beat 5 teams with winning records (Navy at 6-5 has yet to play Army...not including them as a winning record yet)
  • opponents were 76-66 (note Navy hasn't played, will add 1 to either the win or loss number)
  • Lost to unranked VaTech in Columbus 35-21.

* I'm not including the Big Ten Championship game in the numbers above as the Big XII doesn't have a similar game.

You can't convince me that a decent Wisconsin team could legitimately get beat like that by tOSU starting a third string QB. Delany told Wisconsin to lay down; there's Million on the line, and they did. I know y'all think I crazy for even suggesting it or that Wisconsin would go for it, but you can't convince we otherwise and this is the B1G we're talking about.

I also believe this.
My top 4 are:
1. Oregon
2. Bama
3. TCU
4. F$U

Hey put the top 4 here so I will know who it will be. Remember I don't ahve cable.

1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. Ohio St.
4 FSU
I still say their want bama vs FSU in the first game.

In all seriousness and thinking about what Gecko posted, how about this:
Pac 12 Champ
SEC Champ
Big Ten Champ (You know, Ohio State, I don't know what they're calling the conference nowadays)
ACC Champ

There's your four. Sorry Big 12. You didn't have a true champ.

All I have to say is that any conference that doesn't have a conference championship game AND their conference has CO-Champions, then they get to look from the outside. No pitty whatsoever.
During the TCU game it was shown that if a tie should happen, it would be then head to head. So that mean Baylor is the true Big 12 Champ. But, I still can't think why TCU because of beatting a 2-9 team .

Give me

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Florida State
4. Ohio State

Baylor and TCU are gonna screw themselves over by being in the Big 12 and not lobbying for a Championship game. The Big 12 is cling it co-champions, yet one beat the other head to head. The Big 12 deserves to get left out for being such idiots with the handling of their own business. Attempting to be smart and get two in is going to get them skunked. The Big 10 ain't any better than the Big 12, they both.suck top to bottom, but atleast Ohio State played that one extra game against a Top 15 team and kicked the crap out of them. Maybe the Big 12 will learn from their mistakes and either bring a team or two in or create a Championship format instead of this co-champion garbage that makes no sense. I feel bad for those players, but not at all for the conference.

Its something that will be discussed in the offseason and its been on the schedule for a while now. They need the NCAA to give them a waiver or change the rules on requiring 12 teams to have a conference championship game.

Below is not necessarily what I want to see happen, but what I think the committee is going to do.
1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. FSU
4. Ohio State

My reasons for the #4 prediction:
1. Big 12 has no conference championship game
2. TCU and Baylor are co-champions, diluting the value of the championship for each team
3. Ohio State name and Big 10 clout with corporate sponsors and the media > TCU/Baylor and Big 12
4. Oklahoma loss to OK State diminishes (slightly) the resume of both TCU and Baylor - making it easier to slight the Big 12 co-champions
5. Choosing Ohio State keeps the committee from having to finesse a rationale for distinguishing TCU from Baylor in the rankings

Bama and Oregon should be 1 and 2, but it's possible Oregon leapfrogs us.

As for 3 and 4 .. Man, that playoff committee has some fun conversation ahead. Almost makes you wish a computer was doing it .. ;-)

My guess is, since TCU played a wimp yesterday and since Baylor did not dominate KSU, that hurt them in the "beauty" contest. Can't leave an undefeated Power 5 out so F$U is in. Ohio State wrecked Sconnie yesterday. So my final guess is like most folks' ..

1. Bama
2. Oregon
3. FSU
4. Ohio State
5. Angry Big 12 fans

If the decision were up to me they don't get the waiver or a rules change; I tell them to get to twelve teams if you want a conference championship. Too many deserving teams getting left behind in my opinion.
