He will have a challenge to sway die hard Alabama fans after holding up six fingers on his way into the stadium. However, it will depend on who the other candidates are on the GOP ticket.

Hopefully he will win or lose based on his platform and appeal to the voters and not based on his business (coaching) record. I know nothing about the latter.
If Coach Bryant had ever gone this route he probably could've been governor, if so inclined. His greatest constitutes would have been Barners who would have mobilized like the Minutemen just to get him out of Tuscaloosa.
I'd like to think football wouldn't matter... especially a coach who is a decade plus removed from AU.
That said, I like the hypothetical of an Auburn coach running as a Republican vs a Democrat Nick Saban running against him. Some people in our great state and some of those on this board would implode.
I'd just want to know if all of the state's trouble areas are going on probation, as it seems to be his proven route to any type of success while in charge.

That's because too many people can't see past the (R) or the (D). It's just stupid. I'm a Republican, but I campaigned for Doug Jones (I was even in a commercial for him), simply because Roy Moore is a demagogue and thinks he's above the law he swore to uphold. I will not campaign for Jones again. I'd like someone else in the Republican party step up and run against Wingnut. He's running off name recognition alone. He hasn't presented any real platform or a plan to move forward.
Use to do same @UAgrad93 but when they get to Washington they fall in line with the party
State or local. Yeah look at person
But never again nationally.

He would win based on his "appeal" by just having an (R) next to his name. 99 times out of 100 that's all that matters (in a general election, at least).
