💬 Slow day topic: Bama polo... I don't hate it.

We will be on the Mardi Gras out of Cape Canaveral. Stops are Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Nassau, and Celebration Key. We haven't booked any excursions yet. We'll probably rent a golf cart at Grand Turk and just ride around the island. Daughter wants to do Monkeyland at Amber Cove, so we will probably do that. Nassau will either be just walk around, stay on the ship, or maybe the wife and daughter do a dolphin encounter. If they do that, I'll probably hang out on the ship or something. If we enjoy this cruise, we will probably either do an Alaskan cruise next or maybe try another one in the Caribbean with a group of friends.

The wife and I did a cruise to the Bahamas way back when we first got married. It was just Nassau and Royal Caribbean’s island. We enjoyed it. Took the kids to Cozumel probably 12-14 years ago. Thinking of flying out to LA and leaving from there and cruising down the Mexican West Coast or take one and hit more of the Virgin Islands. I’m a history buff, so I try to study up on the port stops beforehand and then hit those points of interest and include shopping for the wife! Y’all enjoy and take plenty of pictures!! Sailing back as we speak! Dock in Miami in the morning and then head home. Where are y’all going? Any excursions booked? We like to explore on our own, so we rarely book excursions with the cruise line. We did Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao this time, 8 day cruise. Last year was Puerto Rico, St Maarten and St Thomas. We are currently trying to decide where to go to next year.

We did a river cruise a short while ago. Loved it! Went from Basel Switzerland to Amsterdam. Excursions are more educational and focused on history. Only 190 passengers on board. Most of the cruising is at night. One daylight cruise period was focused on the castles of the Rhine. Meals are a set time each day but no reserved seats. Sit wherever and with whoever you want.
