Greatest longball clutch shooter I can remember. I have my favorite pressure shot when he was with the Lakers vs Sacramental. After the game, the Kings called the game winner just luck. Horry said they may want to read a paper, I've been doing that my whole career. Big Shot Rob from Andalusia.
He damn sure made some good decisions about what teams to play for. I mean 7 rings! He needs to share one with Biscuit Bennett who lost 5 Super Bowls :-(
I went to Andalusia High - started right after he graduated. He left a legacy there that will never be rivaled. Our head basketball coach (Richard Robertson) was also the drivers ed instructor. Every time we did ride-a-longs he just waxed poetic about Horry. Day in and day out for months - nervously driving down the road with a gruff old coach going on and on about how he was the greatest naturally gifted player ever in between yelling at you about driving. Good times.
I took some classes with Robert while at UA. He had a great way with kids! Could you guys see a 6'10" elementary PE teacher? Robert was always good for a laugh.
