Yeah, I read somewhere that Wagner was an Anti-Semite too, sad for someone with so much to give to be so shortsighted at the same time. My favorite music from that part of the world is by Dvorak.

If we had rep points—which I hate on message boards—I'd give ya some on that one...how many movies has "New World Symphony" been in?

Wagner's work was also the source for some of Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings" material.

So which came first the rye grass in T-Town with the game score or the tree poisoning? The reason I ask is because this whole thing is just an overdone escalation by individual morons. With all the negative attention, I would think it would be a deterrent to any others that would escalate any further.

The rivalry is a wonderful thing and the occasional moron taking it too far is part of the process - it gives the rest of us not only something to laugh at (or be sad about), but it also gives us all bright-line boundaries as to what constitutes "taking it too far." If we as a nation can stand proud and strong and still fly airplanes and conduct air travel in general after the 9-11 massacre, then surely we can move forward from this and continue this great rivalry just a bit wiser and perhaps more rational.

Couple years ago, I got to see the Alabama Symphony do "New World Symphony" live. It gave me chills.
