🏈 Should OJ stay or should he go?

OJ is likely gonna declare for the draft. Looking at the TE play in the NFL, I honestly can't blame him. He would easily be one of the more athletic TEs in the league and definitely the fastest from day one. He gains nothing from coming back to BAMA at this point. If he lands with the right team (Patriots, Green Bay, Chargers, Arizona), he will do well. ROLL TIDE OJ!!!!!

@Birdman37 is right about the NFL TE position. It really isn't a run blocking league anymore. It is about pass catching abilities, Gronk, Gates, Graham, etc.
To me, NFL is about needs and and what is the most urgent. Even though the mock drafts may show him as the 2nd best TE, he may not go until the 3rd round or even later. We all thought Cortney Upshaw would be gone in the early 1st round but went instead in round 2. These guys are making these projections based on what they think is a teams' most important need, not what the team feels is their most urgent spot to fill.
Personally, I think OJ would benefit one more year to show that 5 for 208 wasn't a fluke and that he can be a more consistent target. I'm not saying he averages 40+ yards a catch every game, but when he is targeted, he makes the catch. He did improve in his blocking this year, but NFL TEs rarely run block.

No shit.

I still think OJ is soft. He was softer than a baby's ass when he got to Tuscaloosa. He's better but needs another year. He could be a star and improve his status dramatically.

Comparing him to Gronk is pretty LOL though.

I don't see comparison's to Gronk. I do see people saying the NFL doesn't look at blocking in the same way as those in collegiate football and Gronk is an example of a TE that's a receiving threat, but isn't what most college football fans would call a blocking tight end.

By no means am I comparing him to Gronk other than OJ is a pass catching threat like the NFL desires at the TE position. To me, he is more Jimmy Graham in stature and skills. TEs in the NFL today are more often than not "oversized WRs" that sometimes are asked to put their hand in the dirt.
