Yup. It is fun to watch and cheer. It prepares our team for SEC grind. But not sure it's worth it.

Maybe 1-2 big OOC games might be better, or just a “Maui Invitational” type tourney and be done.

IMO, the issue was probably having a run of 7 or 8 really good teams in a row without a break. 7 of the 8 that Bama played from in that little pre Christmas run went on to make the NCAA Tournament. They could probably dial that back some but more importantly, spread it out some. Maybe don't play 2 really high level teams going straight into the Players Era Tournament? But, I do firmly believe in playing some really good teams before SEC begins, and also liked how it worked out this year with playing a team like Houston who has a style that gives Bama fits at times. Oats ain't ever gonna go completely cupcake though...

I certainly think CNO needs to curb so many tough OOC games during the course of the year. The SEC schedule is tough but add to that the OOC games played and the schedule becomes brutal. IMO, I think our guys were just worn out from the constant grind they faced for almost every game.

Tone it down? Nah, that has helped toughen us up and is a selling point to recruits. I'm with @Brandon Van de Graaff that it's mostly the deep SEC this year. Never a night off or an off week is tough. Nothing would have changed the last two months of the year, you're gonna get worn down with that schedule.

I like the idea of playing top teams ooc. Four to six games a year helps more than it hurts, in my opinion. Sure, players get banged up.and sometimes injured. But that can happen any game against any team.
