Yep. Had an ER visit back at the end of October(Bronchitis) wife asked the nurse why they didn't give me fluids with the IV. She gave us the details, had to be in dire need to get fluids due to the shortage.

Same thing (sans reasons) I found out: fluids with potassium bag they were pushing too damn hard, too quickly.

I actually read a book on this. I can’t recall the name, but I’m sure I’ve still got it in storage or something…. Mainly on foodstuffs, but the sane premise.

@TerryP I know you usually bring up tv shows in this part of the forum, and didn’t you reference The Resident at some point? I remember they had an episode where they were short IV fluids and the prices were going haywire. Their little group of hospitals decided to buy an IV manufacturer so that they could control their supply and pricing.

The hospital genre. It's just one of those things where I don't have an appetite. As a kid was an Emergency fan. (I still have the lunchbox.)

Yeah, the shows get a little stale after a season. I think the only reason I was drawn to it is because my wife is a resident. Although I did like House, but I think mainly that was because I enjoy sarcasm.
