Shaun was on the radio this morning and said he was gonna be coming home to Bama this Saturday for the Bama-Florida game. He'll be at the Bryan Museum on Saturday at 2. He noted that he hadnt been back to Tuscaloosa during football season since Saban came to Bama (hes been to both SEC Championships, the Georgia game in '08 IN Georgia, and i think he was at the National Title game last year) so this is gonna be cool to see.

By the way Mark (2,694 yards) is currently 871 yards away from Shaun's all time rushing record (3,565 yards), and he's 8 TD's (33 career) away from Shaun's rushing TD (41) record.

It'll be good to have him back at Tuscaloosa! I have a lot of good memories of Alexander the Great as a kid. I was down for a game and randomly ran into him walking towards the stadium. Also, I still have the wristband he threw out to the crowd at one of the A-Day games. It's just crazy that Mark is coming close to breaking his records. It's definitely a great time to be a Bama fan that's for sure!

Funny thing is I remember him as much for his smile as I do for his records. He brought the game ball out either at Va. Tech game or at SECCG in some kind of truck. They drove him to midfield and as he got out you would have thought it was HIS team out on that field and he was about to go suit up. He still has so much pride for Alabama. Watching him on the sidelines at SECCG I've got nothing on him (fan wise). And that's saying a lot.

Welcome home Shaun! We couldn't ask for a finer representative of our beloved university.

Gosh were is he now? i lost track of him after Seattle.
(remember guys i don't do pro ball at all so hard to keep up)
But Shauns great. I've never heard anyone have a bad word to
say about him. Not even All-barn fans i know....So that saying sumthin there.

After Seattle screwed him over (Shaun had a broken foot (that never healed right) and a broken wrist in his last 2 years along with a few ankle sprains and knee sprains due to taking a ton of punishment with a weak O-Line for the first time in his career) and released him only 2 years after winning the MVP Award and shattering all of their rushing records, he signed with Washington. Never got a chance (i think he average a carry a game). He finally decided to retire. Shaun said this morning that Washington still owns the rights to his contract and that he would agree to come back and play for them if they wanted to (he still lives in Washington). The thing with Seattle is Holmgren never seemed to want to rely on Shaun and honestly didnt seem to care for him too much. I cant count the times Shaun would rip off 16, 20, 13 yard runs in a row and then Holmgren would call three straight passes. Or on the damn goal line, the best goal line running back ever in my opinion in ur back field, but he still passes 3 straight downs on the 1! Holmgren was dead set on having a 60-40 passing team despite having the best back in the league.
