Last day with a viewing period before the Ole Miss game. Alabama was in full pads on another scorching day in Tuscaloosa. They were riding around spraying the guys with water again to keep them cool.

- Same 5 offensive linemen when I checked today. If Alphonse Taylor has won a starting job, they're not tipping their hand in practice. My bet is that it'll take a game or two more before that's settled.
- No change in the order of QBs. I think you guys can get as good a read on the QB situation as we can by watching games and listening to Saban, but you all keep asking, so I'll keep checking.
- Johnny Dwight was back at practice today. Not sure what kept him out earlier this week. Doesn't seem like it's anything serious.
- Cam Sims was practicing again today and all indications are that he'll be fine for Saturday. He's been expected to play all week.
- The defensive line was doing a drill where they'd push a two-man sled, then stop and jump up to knock down a pass. Saw Raekwon Davis doing that drill at one point and you can imagine what he'd be capable of in that situation. He's really, really raw but every time you're out there you can see why people would get excited about him.
- Another thought: Is it a good idea to practice batted passes for Ole Miss? I kid, I kid.
- Tight ends were working on a one-on-one blocking drill and Mario Cristobal was really getting on those guys to be physical. In some cases, those matchups in practice aren't fair. Imagine a walk-on getting manhandled by O.J. Howard. That kind of matchup.
- One thing to note if you haven't seen it in a game: When they go to the dime defense, Ronnie Harrison slides down to the money back and Hootie Jones is in at safety. So Hootie is the 6th DB on the field, but he doesn't actually play the money back spot. That's where Harrison played last year as a true freshman.
