I wasn't sure where to put this first but seeing as how it is the Tide's Seniors last game before they move on ,this seemed good.

I just happened to see in the local newspaper (Mobile Press Register) that the Senior Bowl may be moving. A lot of locals don't like the idea (myself included). Considering the economic impact that this has for the city, many want it to stay.

So for those of you that usually come to Mobile for the SB,it may not be here next year.

Official: Senior Bowl, Mobile poised to sign 9-year contract

MOBILE, Ala. -- The chairman of the Ladd-Peebles Stadium board of directors said this morning that officials are ready to sign a 9-year contract that could keep the Senior Bowl in Mobile until 2018.

An attorney for the college football all-star game sent the stadium board's attorney a contract this morning, said Milton Joyner, the stadium board's chairman.

"We have a contract now that from their point of view is ready to be signed by them and I'm ready to sign it," he said. "I just don't know when the signing will take place."

The contract is split into three 3-year sections, Joyner said. The Senior Bowl's board would have the option of leaving the contract after each term expires, he said.
