🏈 SEC will not participate in EA's NCAA Football video game

After the NCAA announced earlier this year that it would no longer license its trademarks in Electronic Arts' popular NCAA Football video game series, the Southeastern Conference has followed suit.

I should have chimed in on this earlier. I have "known" this for a while now. I have several former employees who work at EA in Orlando (HQ for EA Sports). They told me this at the beginning of summer. Ill try to post more video game relevant stuff (when pertaining to UofA sports).

Guess this will be similar for College Hoops 2K8 where we update the rosters manually and play the same game.

Any college video games are pretty much dead now. Gonna have to make that XBox360/PS3 last in order to keep playing what we already have. I know the players want to get paid for this type of thing, but with Title IX they are SOL. Any money made from football or basketball games would have to be split with the other sports evenly. And by evenly I mean whatever a court says evenly means. Could mean each player gets X dollars no matter what sport. Could mean that each sport gets X dollars and it has to be split among their players evenly. Could mean almost anything.

Come on 2K. Get some licensing here and produce a game. NCAA has sucked since moving to 360.
