🏀 SEC Tourney: Bama drops semi-finals game to UK.

Damn, impressive research! I must really get on your nerves. I’ll try and be less negative and maybe we can also play better basketball. NCAA tournament much more fun to follow when we’re in it and I bought the hype this year
Game threads are meant for people to post observations, comments, and release emotions. I don't see it as a big deal at all because we all watch sports differently.

There's a HUGE difference between people who only post during game threads and their post are always bitching and those who vent in game threads but still participate on the forums...know what I mean?

And, basketball is a completely different animal than football when it comes to how the game flows, how many switches we can see in momentum, and a ton of other glaring differences in how fans relate to the games.

LMAO ...... there was no one within 10 feet of Sexton when he caught the in bound pass from Key.
Because the defender went with Reese. It doesn't change the facts, they didn't stop the ball when they were told to do so.

It was a pretty nicely designed inbounds play but those things can be hard to admit for some, eh?

I agree they hardly even got in Sexton's way.
It may have been Starks, perhaps Gilder, who was doing their best to break Sexton's "path" as he was dribbling. They didn't. Personally, it was drawn up the exact way I would have done (and I'm no where close to having the same basketball IQ as any collegiate HC.)

They had guys on the court with four fouls. What do they not want to do? Cheap foul (within the arc that's two, outside we're looking at three attempts if he's shooting.) They didn't foul.

When they forced Sexton to take the inbounds around the line they immediately fell back to cover any lane he'd have to dump off, right? The point wasn't to keep him from getting the ball but to slow him down (hopefully around mid-court) and more importantly NO FOULS.

I've not watched the replay again, but I'm sure they slide a man over (#2 or #3) to slow him down and not allow him to run the court. LIke their coach said, their goal was to stop him from baseline to baseline. When he kicked that "extra gear" in around the half-court line there was no option outside of fouling; they weren't going to catch him.

CAJ has said on a few occasions that Sexton was the fastest he's seen from baseline to baseline. Coaching speak? Perhaps. There's no denying the fact he's very fast with the ball.

As much credit as Collin has due for an amazing play it's simply illogical to me to say "bad coaching" when they played it ideally. I see too many "let's have it two ways" with this team and this seems like another prime example. How different is what we're talking about to the narrative we've seen pushed...

Bama has no offensive sets versus Bama is missing a lot of open looks.

On a different note here on the competitiveness of the SEC as well as the depth of these teams.

A total of 11 points separated the winners from the losers yesterday in the four games played.

I hope we beat the Boogs today. We truly need to almost go opposite of our normal game to beat them. Slow it down to a half court game and pound it down low. On defense play an extended match up zone and force them to beat you 2 points at a time. No threes

Agree, it’s essential that we are not out rebounded by the much smallerBarn team. Get the ball down low to Hall and the rapidly improving Galin Smith. Offense runs inside/out and only take WIDE OPEN 3s. Guard the 3 point line, get back quickly on D and REBOUND (yes, I mentioned rebounding twice). We should dominate the glass/paint. This one could be big momentum builder and absolutely assure our dance card.

Agree there was a lot of coaching that went into that last play and clearly they ran it to perfection. Still baffled by this team. Smith had clearly his best game, hands down, against a very good inside team. Hold on tight and RTR.

The biggest rebound problem is their long shots generate long rebounds negating their size disadvantage.

Exactly the same thing I said after the last Auburn game. Our guys were there, but everything came back out to the free throw and three point line. Now if we are in the same positions as we were yesterday against A&M, we should be in prime territory!

Sorry to keep commenting on your stuff, but I agree that we play Smith, Giddons, and Hall a lot today, and let Herbert Jones drive. The size of those guys will help tremendously against a smaller team, especially if Smith can roll like he did yesterday, Someone said it earlier, slow the game down, post up, and keep Auburn from nailing eight threes in a row and blowing us out.

CAJ should use the gameplan that Wimp used against Loyola Marymount in the NCAA tournament back in '90. Outside of the score, UA controlled the tempo all game long!! Control the tempo today and make the Barn play defense for 20-25 seconds each time and crash the offensive boards. Got to shutdown those transition 3's!!!
