🏀 SEC Tourney: Bama drops semi-finals game to UK.

Go back and look at other game threads. nowhere to be found in games we won, all over the thread in losses. And after the win, poof gone again

Please link those threads. Granted, you will have to go back far. I post in all in game threads. Majority in last few weeks have been critical and we were 0-5 during that time.

Glad we won.

Thanks for linking final play. Sexton can cover some court in 4secs! How in the world did A&M let him get the ball and nobody really got in his way.

From a big moments standpoint, that shot was nearly as big as 2nd and 26. Not as significant as a national championship on the line, but still big from an emotional standpoint..

Meeting expectations in Tuscaloosa is usually a high and difficult task, but this most likely did it. I understand what you're saying, because this team caught hell all freaking year long from folks expecting them to field a Kentucky-esque type team. So winning to give us a shot in the arm for NCAA hopes, it was HUGE for our program. better than just giving up and laying down, I tell you that much.

Basketball - Alabama 80, LSU 65: Tide whips LSU for 2nd straight win

dont have to go back too far. LSU thread. One comment before the game talking about convincing you that the game wont be an uncomfortable 40 min turning into an ugly or even uglier loss. One more comment saying we cant shoot worth a shit. bama goes on to blow out LSU not another comment. There is a trend with most of your posts, if there is something negative that can be said whether it be true or not you will say it, if bama is doing well you barely ever comment. Kinda piggy backs on the reason i stopped following the football game threads most of the time because there are 3 or 4 ppl every game that only post when something bad happens. Or hell most of those posts come if we arent winning by 40. I just dont think yall have any clue how to be positive. Then game before that Bama mauls Tennessee. Not one single post in the thread. no need to go back any farther. Every other game leading up to this win and including this win almost every comment you make is totally negative about the team.

Basketball - Alabama Men’s Basketball Falls at Mississippi State, 67-63

then go to that one. Loss before the 2 blowout wins. Commented all over that thread and everything was negative as hell. Maybe you dont notice it because youre just used to it but it sticks out like a sore thumb

I dont think anyone was expected prime Kentucky level but def. better than 18-14.

It was a great moment and a great win for the resume. But Bama was doing their Bama thing when they lost the lead. The missed free throw by Sexton that would have given us a 3 point lead just before the Aggies took the lead was typical of us not finishing. The Herb Jones drive to the basket and the defender came to him and under the basket stood a Bama player all by his lonesome for a dunk. All he had to do was hand him the ball. Instead, turnover. We can't finish at the basket. We can't shoot threes. We can't hit pressure free throws. We are as athletic as any 3 SEC teams. but our basketball skills are below normal.

I know of no one that has been confusing Kentucky like expectations with this team's actual achievements. If we can't beat another team with extreme athleticism, and dogged defense, it will NOT be with an offensive skill set.

Since we signed our class everyone was chirping with excitement about making a huge push in the tournament. Using Kentucky as an example was just to use the high expectations thrown on this team in the pre-season before we even knew what we had. Just like Joe Tess said, we're one of the youngest rosters in the country, we're going to see highs and lows, hot streaks and droughts. We saw it all this season. I just don't think getting down on this team is the most logical way of going about it, because it's not like we returned four starters from a highly productive team last season and added a Top 10 Freshman. Basketball may be your thing as I remember hearing you say you watch it a lot, but I still think we have a great team, things to work on, but the ability to compete with anyone. We convert a lot as well. Key and Petty have gone dry for us and a little bit of a sore spot, but no team is short of mistakes. All teams turn the ball over, and we have a lot of guys playing together for the first time every, and like Joe Tess said again, not one player has started every single game, making playing together and being in sync that much tougher. And you can't teach free throw shooting, you can only continue to practice that and hope your guys convert.

I also want to note the last five games were against five tournament teams. Texas A&M is a solid team with great big men. We beat them twice and lost to them by two points. Come on, we aren't as bad as you like to paint us.

We need shooters, not scorers, we need shooters on this team. Riley was as close as we had and even he was struggling this year. Another year older can only help Bama to pick up their shooting percentage. But look at the balance of successful basketball programs. We need shooters and we need high IQ playmakers. Athletism we got.

Hey, I agree. With Key and Petty going stone cold, it freaking hurts. Especially in games like the second Auburn game where they fire a huge number of threes. We fought back in the game, but we can't withstand big runs multiple times a game when two of our five guys can't shoot. I understand that, and that's why I think Herbert Jones and Alex Reese may need to stand in for the two I named earlier. I think we are going to be so much better next year as long as more than one guy doesn't go pro early. Sexton needs a year to learn how to control the ball, but I can't blame him for leaving. The rest of the team needs to stay and we will be so freaking solid.

Poor coaching by TAM Sexton should have never been able to touch the ball.

Poor execution, not poor coaching.

He called the timeout to tell them to stop the ball and not allow a trip from baseline to baseline. They didn't. It was the right coaching call as I see this.

Damn, impressive research! I must really get on your nerves. I’ll try and be less negative and maybe we can also play better basketball. NCAA tournament much more fun to follow when we’re in it and I bought the hype this year
