Three games between Auburn and Alabama may not have been enough for the world considering the bad blood between the two programs. Here’s to hoping the two can possibly meet in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
The Crimson Tide made quick work of the Tigers Friday during the quarterfinals of the 2018 SEC Tournament thanks to a dominating second-half performance, which was led by freshman Collin Sexton. Alabama won the game 81-63 and sent Auburn home from the tourney with an early exit.
The “highlight” of the day for Auburn, if you want to call it that, was Bruce Pearl showing more passion after the game than his team had shown on the court for the entire contest.
If you missed it, Pearl bumped into an Alabama assistant after the game and proceeded to exchange words with him. Judging by the video, it appears the Alabama assistant was stationary and the Auburn coach proceeded to bump into him. That bump started the incident.
So what exactly happened? Here’s how Pearl tried to explain it after the game.
“Just as I was walking to my locker room, I just had to–a gentleman just was in my path,” Bruce Pearl said, according to Tom Green of AL.com. “I had to negotiate, try to negotiate around him. I think he may have clipped me and then he said something to me. Of course, I should be able to walk off the floor without having somebody stand in front of me and try to make contact with me. That’s all it was.”
Why Pearl had to “negotiate” his way thru the assistant, instead of moving slightly to his right and missing him, was not explained.

Wow that was nuts. I was on my way to Birmingham and I think Bama was down by seven. My wife called me and we talked for a few minutes. When I turn the radio back on, Bama is up by 15 and kicking the hell out of them. Unbelievable.

Side note, Bruce Pearl is a bitch. That is all.
