🏈 SEC rules Dial won't be suspended for hit on Murray.

"This was an interception return. The player being blocked, no question he was the quarterback, but if he moved to participate in the play, he's a defender," Shaw said.

Yup, and Dawson said he didn't mean to poke Milliner in the eye - @!#$@# liar.

If you're gonna play the tough guy, at least own it. Don't chicken shit out and say you didn't try to.

The video clearly shows you purposely poked his eye.

His quote on ESPN.

The SEC also opted against punishing Georgia cornerback Sheldon Dawson, who had been accused of trying to eye gouge Alabama's Dee Milliner while players from both teams attempted to recover a fumbled kickoff early in the fourth quarter.
Georgia coach Mark Richt said Dawson has been disciplined internally and will not face game punishment in the Bulldogs' Jan. 1 matchup with Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl.
"To me it looked very bad," Richt said after Friday's practice. "It's just not Georgia football. I think when he saw it, he said, 'Coach, I saw it and I don't blame you.' He didn't even make an excuse. He just said, 'When I saw it, it looked bad and I'm sorry.' "
Although he admitted it looked blatant, Dawson said the eye gouge was unintentional and that he apologized to Milliner almost immediately.
"I don't think I even touched him in the eye -- but it does look like I got him in the eyes," Dawson said. "But I apologized to him and I apologized to a couple people that I know that know him and stuff, too. It wasn't the way it seemed, but it should have never happened."

^^ It's funny - ESPN even has it on it's front page. Can't say I ever really expected him to be suspended.

If we were getting ready to play in a lesser game, maybe. If Richt or Murray made a bigger deal out of it, maybe. If Murry doesn't think it was a big deal, I don't see why anyone else should.

Changing the subject a bit...

Imagine what the Internet would look like if it existed when Darwin Holt made his hit...

fyi, i was livid when Tim Brando and Co were making such a big deal over Dial's hit during half time. i didn't think it deserved the attention they were giving it even during the game. i might be wrong, but Brando always seems to take shots at Bama and praise his beloved LSU any chance he gets. i feel somewhat vindicated now. furthermore, i'm glad we have another big body for the bowl. ND's OL is stout.

I think its more of a stubbornness with Brando than anything, he literally thinks he knows ALL when it comes to college football and at the beginning of the year he said the SEC's reign was over and there was no way an SEC team was even gonna make it to the National Championship let alone win it... hes picked against Alabama in every single big game this year, i literally laughed when he picked Georgia because I knew it wasn't because he simply thought Georgia was the better team. Sometimes Brando seems like he knows his shit and other times he just seems like a joke.
