The SEC's presidents voted today to limit the number of football signees to 28 per year, and the legislation, which goes into effect immediately, will be upheld even if other conference do not adapt it.

We can live with that. You just have to be a little more cautious about whether your signee will qualify.

This really doesn't make a big difference in my eyes. The only way I see this bothering Coach Saban is if we lose scholarships from the text book scandal, and he wants to over sign in the classes to follow.

Yea the only way I see if affecting us is if we lose a couple of scollies. Also, may not oversign as many kids who you know won't qualify, in hopes of them singing in a couple of years.

The Nutt Rule.

That was just an insane signing class. You almost are obligated to make a rule for that junk when someone does that.

Oh well, atleast we already did our bigger signing classes.

I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere. So, I'm assuming it's a "loop-hole" left open by the college presidents.

Technically, the only place back-counters "count" on the number if signees is on Scout, Rivals, etc. They have them on the list for the Feb. class, but their scholarship paperwork is signed long before that.

I could see a school sign 28, only get 24 in and then sign a kid in Dec. that counts back towards the original 25 initial limit.
