Some reports suggesting that DirecTV is close to an agreement with the SEC Network.

Not sure how legit they are at this point, but this

I heard this at the beginning of the week and it was suggested that the holdup had to do with DTV having two different pricing tiers—one for those within the SEC footprint (state that has a SEC school) and another for those outside.

Yep.

ESPN and Comcast Cable have reached an agreement for carriage of the SEC Network, which will begin rolling out to fans and followers of the Southeastern Conference across Comcast markets at the start of the SEC college football season. Comcast subscribers will also have authenticated access to additional live events scheduled for the SEC Network's and Comcast's digital platforms - including the Xfinity TV Go app and website, WatchESPN and SECNetwork.com - with the ability to watch SEC Network live and on-demand content anytime, anywhere on their television, computer, tablet or mobile device. With the addition of Comcast, the SEC Network will be available to 46 million households nationwide.

DirecTV has no choice as I see it, this isn't the PAC-12 network. DirecTV will lose customers over this.

I've heard some suggest that it could be announced around 7/23 or 7/24, coinciding with Pac12 Media Days.

I have DirecTV here in Ohio where I live only bc the local cable carries only 36 channels, yes, 36. I'd love to have cable instead of DirecTV but my choices are very limited. Hopefully, the SEC network will be on here soon.

Still waiting on the idiots at Charter to decide. I called customer service to ask if they were in negotiations for the SEC channel and the operator asked "what does the SEC channel carry that we don't already provide in our digital sports package?"

I just hung up.

I wonder if that was that individuals ignorance or was it a company line?

Good question. Called back today, talked with a different person, asked the same question and was told, "we expect to remain # 1 in customer satisfaction so I'm confident we'll carry the SEC Network."

I asked "any idea when you'll start showing the SEC network?" And it worked, just as I thought he was BSing me, he replied, " it will be before football season starts."

Which hopefully will be August 14th but I just hung up, again.
