At this point I'm of the opinion they should have it centralized and I'm left wonder how much that's gonna cost/save to implement.

They need to limit the amount of time they can review the footage in my opinion, seems like some calls take way too much time to review. Not sure if it's a technical issue, reviewing the rules, or just trying to make a decision.

I think it would be a good thing. That way you can put all the best review guys in the same place and if a rules question arises then they should always get it right.

I'd rather they get it right than get it fast. But a centralized system would be liable to even longer slowdowns when reviews from multiple games were required simultaneously.

Yeah, my thinking about limiting the time. How long did it take them to get the Duke/Miami game wrong...

Just saying, if they can't figure it out in a given timeframe, go with the call on the field. No reason to waste more time on something they can't figure out quickly.

Doesn't the NFL use a centralized replay system? 16 games if no one had a bye in the NFL. So you would think the SEC could handle 6-12 games. I would imagine the SEC would use that model.

I don't think they do. Centralizing the replay would be a nightmare. While a coach can challenge a call, all plays are subject to review by the replay official. He's the one that makes the call. Are you going to have one person responsible for deciding if the play should be reviewed for all games currently underway or will there be a team of people on board to make a decision. How does one person keep tabs on up to four games at a time? If it's a team, how is that different from the current setup except location?

NHL has been doing it for years, NFL implemented last year - search for Rule Proposal 9 to get more details on the rule. Peter King wrote about it on MMQB last year.

Starting from within the conferences is just that; a start. With suspensions in play how is it called the same away across all the Power 5 conferences?
