There were several items touched on at the SEC meetings in Destin, Fla., this week. Here’s a rundown.

The SEC plans to use one officiating crew with an extra man. Read here.

This all started with the face-pace offense issue. I still find it strange that rules have to be altered here. Basically, work within the rules.

If teams can go fast with officials getting the ball set, good for them. And don’t mandate how slow they can go.

The ACC is looking for an early signing period, and the SEC wants a version of its own. Read here.

I’ve always though athletes should sign as they decide and it’s binding. There’s no signing day, but more like the pros being done individually.

Instead of commitments that are frequently changed, players just sign. They will be a little more cautious since they can’t change their mind.
