Dying laughing about Auburn flying to SEC Media Days. I sure hope they meant by helicopter so it doesn't sound as stupid as it already does. Also, his police detail. he needed three guys to keep two autograph hounds away from him?

But, when Gus decided he was going to invite reporters to his house who was there outside of normal Auburn beat writers (as in Opelika News, Mongomery's paper, and their fan sites?) Barrett Sallee, if I recall the picture correctly. I think he was standing right in front of Gus.

I can see a resemblance, Matt, but I'm not going to get into comparing facial points! I'll leave that to TV crime drama's.

Going back to yesterday ...

He started his career working in the media relations department at Auburn. He worked for ITAT for several years.

If you look over his public profiles you won't see where he attended school. Is that on purpose? I suspect so

It dawned on me to look at LinkedIn this morning. His education isn't listed until you log in. Then ...



He went to school at Auburn. His first job in the media was covering Auburn (as a student, then as in their media relations department.) Then he's working for ITAT. Any experience with that site and you'll know you have to be an Auburnite to work there. When Bleacher Report launched they contacted him to cover Auburn. Then, add what he's written and said for going on a decade plus now ...

I'd say the picture here is pretty clear, would you not?

No doubt, he's a 'click-baiter.' No doubt where he's from either.

Let me add this. I don't give a damn if a sports reporter happens to be a 'homer' for his school. I do give a damn when they pretend they're not.

Building on this a bit, @planomateo I heard Sallee say yesterday Auburn could have easily been 9-3 last year and he went on to justify his opinion. There was a problem. Even with his reasoning, it was a 6-6 team based on his logic.

A realistic look says they could just have easily been 3-9.

Back to media days ... 'nuff with Auburn for now.

This a testament to the money each school is bringing in where they can budget this, or is this just a little appreciation to the players selected to go? I only ask due to the short drives for Auburn and Mississippi State. Hell, now I'm curious if our guys will fly, or if Cochran is going to make them run it?

I've never thought about it until Walsh tweeted that yesterday. I'm guessing it's all about appearances sake. Lord knows, it's not fiscal responsibility.

My assumption is the Bama guys drive over. I strongly suspect there are clauses built in to cover gas, expenses, etc. in the SEC bylaws.

TCL is what, three miles west of Lurleen B. Wallace? I'm guessing 15 minutes from campus (without Police escort?) In 15 minutes from campus I'd be getting pretty close to Mercedes I"d think.
