This a testament to the money each school is bringing in where they can budget this, or is this just a little appreciation to the players selected to go? I only ask due to the short drives for Auburn and Mississippi State. Hell, now I'm curious if our guys will fly, or if Cochran is going to make them run it?

Busy day with interviews and such. Saving 3+ hours in travel definitely worth it to keep the guys mentally prepared...not to mention they are with Mullen.

** Props to whoever came up with the idea of putting oatmeal next to the biscuitson the media breakfast buffet at the Wynfrey Hotel on Monday. The looks of horror on faces after taking a bite out of what was thought to be biscuits and gravy was probably the top highlight of Day 1 at SEC Media Days.

Would be kinda cool if the ncaa releases the second round of violations about 12 hours before freeze takes the platform. That colonoscopy freeze speaks about so often may feel more like open heart surgery without the anesthesia.

If what I'm hearing indeed is true—and I don't have any reason to doubt these guys based on their history—they don't have to say a thing for another 29 days (assuming they don't ask for another extension, or send to second letter to an office out of state so FOIA request doesn't apply, or ...)

Another odd statement, this time from Sgt. Carter.

When Cecil asked about Alvin Kamara and how he was progressing, Jones mentioned "that the team had voted him Captain and that's a testimony to Kamara."

That sounds good until I think about other decisions teammates have made these past few years. It's not a ringing endorsement to character, in my opinion.

Alabama's Cam Robinson, Laurence Jones have chance to play in season opener after arrests

Saban: Robinson, Jones have chance at opener

Saban emphasized that the decision to not press charges was "out of my hands" and that "the facts of the case as they have been advertised are different than what we've been told."

An Alabama official told ESPN that Robinson and Jones were required to take weekly drug tests, undergo routine drug counseling, receive gun education from Tuscaloosa Police, do 26 hours of ride-alongs with police, volunteer with the Police Athletic League and submit to outpatient drug treatment.

"You have to look at the whole picture," Saban said. "Based on the information we got and what they did, that's what we're going to do. That's my decision. I'm also basing this decision based on the type of people these guys have been in our program and what they've done to change their behavior relative to our program."
