I know we already have a couple other threads on this subject, but they're already buried behind page one, so they're not getting much more tread wear. I felt this particular story warranted a new thread, especially with eyes glued to TV sets for tomorrow's slate of conference championship games.

Good read about Sankey going to bat for us. He obviously has conference money and exposure motivations for 2 teams in the CFP, but still cool despite that.

SEC commish Sankey makes case for Tide to make CFP

Besides Tebow and Sankey, not a lot of love for the Tide this week. We are the villain in this drama and it's going to be interesting if we get a Buckeye win today. The bottom line is that the playoff committee has to show their face one more time on Sunday afternoon and explain to the football savvy why they absolutely have the 4 BEST teams in the playoff. That was Tebow's simply but passionate rant and supposedly it's also the mandate of the committee itself. Through all the propaganda and media bias, how are these the 4 BEST teams in the land?

:agree: Bama only team being to it for the last htree years and play for it, all the last two year! I think it will be a very long shot, for Bama. It not like last year when the B1G team didn't have the winner to go ,but tOS to go. Then Clemson put a whopping to them.

If TCU can bring the magic, I think we're in. I doubt that they would leap into the top 4 (although, you never know.) I still contend that ohio bucknuts have NO place in the discussion, regardless of what happens in their game. They we pathetic vs an average-at-best Iowa. If TCU wins, that would be another data point against ohio because they (ohio) lost by two touchdowns to Oklahoma.
The bottom line is that we need the rematch with the barn, and then, with Clemson.

I think Ohio State is in a great position to have to choke down what happened to Penn St. But in the end, it's the idea that 2 SEC teams would be in this thing. Otherwise, Bama would be a no-brainer for the committee.
