šŸˆ SEC announces the "two additional teams" for Alabama and the rest of the SEC

Made sense though, next two teams up is an easy discussion.

For sure. That was the word leaking out a couple weeks ago. The schedule I saw going around had the dates listed which made it too much of a stretch to be believable though. I do know they wanted to have all of this already done earlier this week but there was a lot of pushback from AD's, and each change caused a domino effect that caused additional pushback from other AD's (apparently some was over fairness issues obviously, but also other stuff like revenue loss from having top teams play with little [and possibly no] fans, as opposed to hopefully full stadiums next year). In the end, I guess the compromise was to let the heavy hitters have the easiest road, which honestly is best if there is going to somehow be a full season and playoffs.

You're assuming Florida and Alabama were set to meet. Facebook news isn't news, only gossip.
UA vs UF was considered...that game was on at least one of the almost half of a dozen proposed schedules (if not more than one.)

The final decision was based on schedule strength and it appears they followed the FPI. Six of the teams have an average of 31-33 in their opponents FPI.

I'm sure every team was considered a possibility. So many people were betting their children that it was Vandy and Florida (because it came from Sankey's desk).

Not really. The two teams (VU and UF) were considered along with a strength of schedule model. Those two ideas had the most support. I didn't see anyone of any repute point to that "Sankey schedule" and give it any credence. In fact, I saw several of ill-repute questioning its veracity.

I can say this with no doubt. When it was posted here it was done as a question, "Is this from Sankey's desk?" Less than 24 hours later that question was answered, "no, the schedule hasn't been finalized because there were schools lobbying Sanky for changes." That's the whole story in a nutshell.

As I understand it the prediction that was made by Ross Dellenger of SI with us playing VU and FL was they were the next two teams in line for us in cross division play. The same for the rest of the teams in the conference.
