šŸˆ Scott Frost has been fired as head coach of Nebraska.

There is no recruiting base for Nebraska. They're done regardless to who they pay 7 million a year to take the gig. 85% of the rosters these days are Black and they're no headed to Lincoln, Nebraska. It's over for them.
Saban would/could recruit and win there or anywhere for that matter. The right coach can do it. Not sure who that would be.

Don’t believe the story that Nebraska only recruits from Nebraska. They recruit throughout the Midwest and mid-south (Texas and Oklahoma). With the right coach, they can recruit throughout the Big10 footprint. All programs have down periods (see Alabama in the DuBose, Franchione, Price, Shula years). They have good facilities and a history to recruit with.

Whoa there! Haven’t you been keeping up with current opinion? The game has passed Saban by. He’s old news!
Yeah I know that is crazy talk on my part. I will go back under my rock :).

Saban has made it look so easy most tide fans have lost touch on how hard it is to win much less the way the GOAT has won. Maybe we have a little bit of entitlement problem that has crept into our fan base.

So you're not a member of the BSC? (Bama Sunshine Club). I dropped out many years back.

Yeah. Kinda sorta...
You know i see more things these days though...
And Bluebonnet Bowl...i do think i was stuck somewhere in a very unfriendly Asian Country....
How bout Cotton Bowl...UT scored last minute or so...and Joey Jones returns KO...breaks free ....trips on one of his blockers...
Walter Lewis....doesnt run OOBs and clock runs out...

JMO but Walter failed to get much better from his freshmen year to his senior year.

Had John Fourcade not bought Steve Sloan's line and instead come to Bama then the 3peat would have happened.

You are right in that it is harder for teams like Nebraska to recruit on the level of blue chip teams in the SEC. However, in the Big 10 you don't necessarily need to be excellent in recruiting every year to be competitive in the conference. Wisconsin and Michigan State aren't necessarily great at pulling in epic recruiting classes, and those two teams have been fairly competitive in the Big 10 for the last 10-15 years.

I don't believe it is over for the Cornhuskers. They have one of the most loyal fanbases in the United States, and they have an excellent history that is still within living memory for many people. Their problem is similar to that of Alabama from 1997-2006. They fired a good coach in Frank Solich in 2003 (very similar to when Stallings was chased off in 1996), and have sadly been plagued by average coaching (Bo Pelini) to below average coaching (Bill Callahan, Mike Riley, and Scott Frost).

I would argue that at the time they were hired, Bill Callahan, Bo Pelini, and Scott Frost appeared to be solid hires, but their lack of success was more because they were average to below average coaches. Again, I think Nebraska will be fine in the long run. If a team like Minnesota can win 11 games in a season (2019), there would be no logical reason to assume that a team like Nebraska could not be competitive in the Big 10.
