I think you guys are reading into it too much, the way I read it - we haven't been tested, better to be tested at home now, than next week.

I would like to see how we respond to getting "punched in the mouth".

While it would be nice to avoid it, to play 14 games without any real duress, that’s not reality, not even for the best team in the country. So what this Alabama team really needs is a good shot in the mouth, and the sooner, the better.

Better in Tuscaloosa than Baton Rouge.

Better against Mississippi State than LSU.

Been saying it since before Missouri that we really need to feel that heat a little bit before that really big game/big play moment happens.
maybe State can scare Bama a little in the first half.
I want CNS to have fodder for improvement speeches to the TEAM.

I have to agree with you Plano. I think he had more bark to the headline than what the article had bite. It would be better to get punched in the mouth at home and see how we respond as opposed to being in BR next weekend. I think we will get more of a punch this weekend in the first half than what anyone has given us all year and I believe it will be more than what LSwho will provide. LSwho is too one dimensional with a solid defense but has been gashed at times. Stop their run and then you have a QB that can't run and looks like the Statue of Liberty in the pocket trying to beat you with pressure in his face.
To me, MSU is more balanced but again, the competition lacks alot to be desired.

I agree with what he is saying. I read it as, it never hurts to have a glass of water thrown in your face to keep you alert. This kinda relates to my thread about whether the players are getting bored or not, that alot of you laughed at. But since i have said that, ive heard it other times from a few different places. Its all legitimate. Not saying its the truth.....just a valid point and question. I hope we keep dominating. I hope CNS doesnt let off the gas on lsu and barn. I dont believe in running up the score but..........:bluebiggrin:

The guy is an Auburn shield who works for an Alabama hating Sports Editor who graduated from Auburn.

I don't like him either! I doubt you'll find many on here that even slightly care for him.

I, too, would rather be tested by Mississippi State . . . and win anyway. I want us to clean LSU's clock and shut these Tiger fans down here up. I wonder if they realize that, had our FG kicker been on last season, they would not have beaten us. 'Course, the only stat that counts is the final score, so this year I want there to be no doubt about who's got the best team.
