Chris Low as on campus yesterday afternoon talking to Saban about the team and when he asked Saban about the quarterback position Saban said, "It's the same as it's always been, to use them both." It's safe to say all of the "he's going to transfer for '18 rumors/suggestions" should be put to rest.

I know I've mentioned the credibility of SDS as a whole--it's an aggregate site with writers reporting on schools they've never visited. Literally, at times reporting on press conferences they didn't attend. So, it shouldn't come as a shock that we get this on Finebaum yesterday from Conner O'Gara,

Three barner players leaving this week with 2 of them getting a lot of playing time is pause for thought. No one may really know what the players do until they do it. But to hear Saban say on 'Hey Coach' he's not a fan, however, of older players using the rule to enhance their prospects for a graduate transfer. He said that may have been an unintended consequence of the new legislation. The vibe for me is that we may know Jalen's situation shortly after our head coach. Doesn't feel like we are out of the woods.

I have always been impressed with Jalen's character. I do not believe he will ever quit on the team even though it will sacrifice a year of eligibility for him. My 2 cents.

Roll Tide....

I believe.....that JH never plays CF at any other place but Bama,....
If he takes a redshirt....it will be because he wants the job back in 2020....
When Tua has gone pro........
And JH will never quit on his team.. way to much character....
If he was protecting for RS,....he could have sat out....any of first 3 games....
And been available for major sec games...

JMO but Saturday Down South is one of the more "out of touch, click bait posting, sensationalistic, pure garbage, fluff" producers in the digital sports media. I would trust TMZ or BuzzFeed before trusting SDS.

Believe it or not, TMZ is just as accurate as any outlet in 2018.... Not saying that's good lol

My experience with TMZ Sports is they've been more accurate on their stories surrounding football than two-thirds of the sports news sites out there. One thing for sure, they spend far more time vetting stories than the vast majority of news sites.

@Elderfalsedemigod, @Tidestalker, BTW, one of the most entertaining things I've seen out of SDS happened about two years ago when they were a year or so old. At the time they were using more than one Twitter account to promote their stories. I noticed it within a few days but continued following both accounts--I'm glad I did.

I can't recall what the story entailed but I remember how they started a "Twitter war" between the two accounts they owned. Literally, one guy arguing with himself through two different accounts.

What's sad is about the same time one of their "execs" was forced to "step-down" due to a drunken rant. I posted a few tweets hear that were covering the meltdown and arguments only to receive a note from the guy who was getting booted asking if I'd removed any and all posts referring to him from this site.

It is hard to be accurate when you have an agenda that drives everything you print/show.

Coach Bryant........"Here's a twenty, bury two." -- After being asked to chip in ten dollars to help cover the cost of a sportswriter's funeral.

John Crist?

I think that many of us, me included, assumed that Jalen would take advantage of the new redshirt rule and not play then graduate in December, thus preserving 2 years of eligibility. We all looked at previous QBs here and at other schools that left because they weren't playing. We read the comments that were taken out of context from his dad and ran with it much like the media circus. I still think Jalen's comments were filled with some "half truths". Saban is too much of a micro manager and so meticulous that he wouldn't go months without talking to one of his players. It seemed strange that those comments were made yet time and time again, there Jalen was right in the middle of the Leadership Council sessions. I think that we looked at it from the selfish 19-20 year old side that we all had and just never thought that Jalen really could love his teammates, his coaches, and his school that he would stay until he graduates. The kid has always been a class act and will continue to be one of my favorites in the Saban era.

If this is the case, why is Saban telling Low that both quarterbacks are going to play throughout the season? Not Saturday, but the season. After all, it is the title of the article linked, "Nick Saban plans to keep playing both Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts all season."

That you won't know until you know? Given all that has transpired, that doesn't feel like such a leap.

"Just come out and say what you're going to do with the quarterbacks."

So he does...

"I don't believe it until I see it."

What good would it have done to announce anything if the response is still, "don't believe it 'til I see it?"

I'd say "I hate to say this" but I'd be lying to your face.

THIS is the reason, well a good portion of them, that had me saying "don't count Jalen out."

I'll be forever confused on how people took what Hayes wrote so literally when he has such an outstanding track record of shading the truth when he writes.

Don't get me wrong. I've seen things I thought were immature out of Jalen. But, I've tried to temper than knowing I"ve been around a quarter of a century longer than he has and there's no doubt we have different views on life.

If this works the way I'm thinking Saban has planned Jalen serves as the teams "change of pace guy." I'm hesitant to call it a two quarterback system, but it's close. I like the idea of getting up early, then pounding the second quarter. Open the third quarter like the first, and then "ground-pound" the game as the fat lady warms up.

No one has handled himself with more clandestine intent through the QB controversy than Nick Saban. That's one reason for me. Jalen, on the other hand, has been in virtual verbal lockdown since the season began. To the degree that he's voiced plenty of concern and frustration about not getting his message out. Not everyone enjoys being told what you get to speak about. Particularly when you feel the narrative is not casting you in a good light. I'm not sure how anyone could feel confident about the future under we see the future.
