🏈 Sanders bringing a DC From Bama Staff?

Sanders was Prime Time as a player. TBD if he will be that as a coach. But good for him. He is going to find out as he keeps moving to new challenges. He certainly made a lot of noise a Jackson State and the HBC's.

There's a lot of assistant coach movement potentially going on the the SEC right now, until some dust clears not much of it is in stone IMO. Odom for instance at Arkansas... he's on the move, but it depends if it will be for a HC spot or another DC spot (like maybe auburn). Some of these tend to act like dominoes when they fall. In re: to Bama, Golding has options. Roach and Svoboda will likely seek other jobs. Robinson and Kelly will be targeted by others (likely at least one of them by auburn as they want not only more auburn blood, but a Saban staffer).

Freeze is going hard after someone (anyone) on Saban's defensive staff, reasons are obvious. Funny thing is, Freeze thought he could get Kelly and hasn't (yet). Robinson appears to be a "nope" as well. Next step? Freeze is thinking about Grantham (Bama analyst).

That wouldn't be a bad fit for him. He should jump on anything that's offered to him. Not a bad DC, just calls the dumbest blitzes at the worst possible times. I like the aggressiveness, but sometimes he goes too far.

Maybe I'm in the minority that isn't sold on his coaching abilities. He's been fortunate enough to have his own son that wasraised around the life and no doubt trained with the best growing up. That's a huge lift to have a QB you can trust and know inside and out.

What we do know is his name has cache and he can recruit. His career speaks for itself and that will recruit kids. Add in NIL money and Deon will do exactly what he did as a player, legally as a coach.

He sold black kids on playing for HBCU, how they could be the revival, the movement, yadda yadda. That is something not even Saban can replicate. NOW, can Deon sell Boulder, Colorado? A cold, high elevation, upper white class environment to a lot of kids that will no doubt feel out of place from where they are actually from? The culture shock itself will be the test. They are saying recruits are already calling, NIL money is already funneling in, so we will see. He's hot right now, but let's see if he actually can build a legit program from the bottom, up. Will be interesting to see. Trey Sanders is already interested.

Somehow I see this backfiring. He met with the team and told them to go sign up for the transfer portal. He introduced his son as the starting QB. His rebuilding process will take a long time.

Same. One thing is for sure, he will get the benefit of any doubt from the media, they love him for reasons I can't quite figure out other than he's good for sound bites.

It would be nice if Prime would take Peter Golden boy off our hands. But, he has more sense than that. Shit, even if he did, Saban would give Golding an extra $400,000/year to stay. I swear, that incompetent son of a bitch must have pictures of Saban standing next to Oswald in the book depository or something.

Oh man, I did not know he said that about his son and that he followed him. It doesn't surprise me he transferred to follow him of course, but I have not read anything or seen any clips about his pressers or anything, because I really don't care. Pretty wild he introduced his son as starting QB already though. Yep, gonna be a tough rebuild in my opinion as well. More power to him, but we'll learn more about the man soon enough.

Prime's speech to those players was a mess. He is going to have folks leaving left and right and he better hope he can sign enough out of the portal to replace them. Of course we haven;t seen the whole meeting so maybe it is better in full context.

I think the point of his speech was that the just getting by and not putting all out effort was over and that they better be ready to compete because he’s bringing dudes that will. A lot has to change that team has been awful for a long time
