🏈 San Jose State rammed it down our throats

SJSU had 175 total yards on 48 plays. That's 3.6 yards per play. 81 of those yards came on 2 plays. That means they only had 92 total yards on the other 46 play, which is a whopping 2 yards per play.

You guys seriously need to find a little more patience. We have a very young secondary and they are going to give up a few big plays. If some of you aren't careful you're going to end up having a heart attack before our guys can get any real game experience.

I only noticed one guy.

Eddie as well. The type of hit he took on his fumble is one where id completely understand why he would fumble there. He probably recieved t he hardest hit of the game.

But other than that, eddie was very explosive and Ingram-like on his runs. I got a good impression.

The D looked good for the first game. Athletes all over the place. Have never seen that much talent on the field at Alabama. Young D that looked better than some of the veteran units I watched yesterday.:a:

Of course, we gave up the one significant run on that opening drive. That one might have been a busted assignment, or it could have just been a running back getting loose and having some luck. It happens from time to time, as they are a D1-A program (now known as FBS), so I'd hope they'd have a little talent at that level.

I was more concerned with the amount of yardage yielded by the secondary, and I thought they were running around a bit out there. But it was never in doubt, never out of control, and I never thought they were getting the best of us. I'm curious to see how we are gonna do against a team this weekend that does have a decent runner, Royster, and a new QB who isn't afraid to get yards doing whatever is necessary.

On offense, I have zero concerns. everything looked fine, we should be scoring plenty this year. Special teams was so good, and I think they were the real story. Maybe they had some beginner's luck, but they sure don't seem to be anything for us to fret over, and I'll admit fretting plenty before we actually kicked off today.
