Ive always been under the impression that Saban and his wife enjoyed Rammer Jammer, with Terry Saban directly saying so i believe. This was in an article a few years ago.

Anyway, I see no reason to boo a nonrival as they take the field. Ontop of that, I have alot of respect for JoePa, so I will enjoy watchi ng the entrance.

But if we win, I will be singing rammer jammer. Some of you may not like it, but we can atleast agree that it isnt the same thing as booing a team.

I'd bet 1000 bama bucks that we don't hear the band playing rammer jammer if we beat PSU. It may not be said publicly by Saban or the admin, but I'm betting it doesn't happen. If Saban's gone on record chastising the booing of PSU, no way in hell will he allow the band to play rammer jammer IF we win.

I like Penn State. I have no intentions of booing them as I think most Bama fans also have respect and appreciation for PSU. I like the history between our two programs. I don't partake in it but I don't care either.

Of course anyone could find the same kind of videos (and probably much worse) of our own fans. But again, I don't care heh. All I know is nobody would be throwing cups of crap on me or my family or I'd take it to that level.

Personally I think we should boo all teams entering the stadium, including PSU. Just not this year.
I wish we could actually applaud some teams that beat us at home. Nebraska fans are the classiest it gets in CFB & they give every team that beats them at home a standing ovation if I'm not mistaken.

I respect the guy for his decades, hell, centuries of accomplishments, but he wants to beat Alabama Saturday. This isn't a vacation trip for him or that team. Take them lightly and see what happens. Bama fans are treading into some dangerous woods right now, I fear: we've been on top for a little while now, and we assume that teams just cower in our wake. Nope. Every team we play wants to beat the crap out of us, and our enemies hate us more with every day. They'll do anything to beat us right now. PSU is no different. Duke and David Cutcliffe will hit us with everything they have. Arkansas? Fuhgedaboutit. They want us badly.

Let's not forget it's combat out there. Sweet Nike uniforms or not.

I disagree with your reason for people respecting JoePa. It reminds me of Bobby Cox with the Braves. He's obviously trying to win every game he manages because he wants to go out with a ring, but that hasn't stopped every organization in Baseball (aside from the Marlins) from presenting him with a parting ceremony for the last time that he's managed in their stadium.

When I don't boo Penn State or sing rammer jammer IF we win, it has nothing to do with JoePa being old or reminding me of my grandfather. I respect him because he's been around the game for a VERY long time. He's done it all at one school, never leaving to take a better position or more money, he's been a great coach the entire time, and he's always done things the right way. I was in Knoxville the last time Bear coached a game in that city. The Bama players, coming onto the field before the game, were booed roundly and, as Shakespeare would say, lustily. Then, the Bear walked in. There was a bit of silence as he ever so slowly walked past the goal post, and as if some magic potion had filtered through the stands there was a soft and increasingly loud round of applause. It was surreal.

At half time, they applauded Bear as he went to the locker room, slowly and behind his team.

Draw any comparisons you wish. I despise ut and the vols and everything about them and their fans. It was different in Knoxville in the very early '80's. At any rate, there you have it.
