So if Coach Mac is unhappy is this the OC in waiting?

No. It is a resume booster for him in an effort to try to get him back on a staff in a more prominent position. In the meantime, he'll assist with our offense, specifically our QB's most likely.

We've seen all the reports about how assistants are getting paid more than they ever have been. The "outcry," while misplaced considering other coaches being paid more, that the media had when Saban was hired RE: his contract.

Now, we have the highest paid GA in the country. :D

His dad's contract at Virginia was a base salary set at 765K. I'm assuming, that probably puts his assistants (coordinators) at a $150K range.

I find it a little funny that Mike will have fewer responsibilities as a whole, a lesser degree of pressure if you look at the entire picture, is still going to make about the same amount of money as he did as OC for the Cavs....BUT...now as a Grad Asst. will probably end up working harder than he has in his last few years coaching as an offensive coordinator.

Like I've said to people before, if you can keep up with the demands Saban will have of you as an assistant...then you deserve a nice fat wallet. All that goes without saying though. :D

What I forgot to say is UA isn't paying him! :D (he may still get his stipend, don't know...but he's getting his main $$ from UVA)

He's getting his salary from Virginia while working as a Grad Assistant...

I like this cavalier approach.
