One of core members of Alabama's 2014 offensive line, Ryan Kelly is among the 64 centers across the country to make the Rimington Trophy's spring watch list.
Kelly, a fourth-year junior, is entering his second year as the Crimson Tide's man in the middle of an offensive line that is looking to replace two starters. Kelly started nine of 13 games last season, missing three in the middle and the regular season finale against Auburn because of a knee injury.

Eleven of the SEC's 14 centers made the list.

Former Alabama All-American Barrett Jones won the award in 2012.

The winner will be recognized in Lincoln, Nebraska on Jan. 17, 2014. The organization will also release another watch list before the start of the season.

The winner is selected by determining the consensus All-America pick from the Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and the Football Writers Association of America.

Check out the full spring watch list.

This is the second 2014 watch list (that we know of) to include an Alabama player. Last week, safety Landon Collins made the initial Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list.

Am I the only one seeing this?

Yeah I noticed that too hahah are they basically including 2/3 of the centers in the country .. ? He is also one of the SEC centers named .. one of 11 centers, out of 14 teams lol. Not exactly prestige. What kind of watch list is it if 70% of players are named? Though I hope he is considered to be on the watch list OF the watch list!
