🏈 Rushing QBs in Alabama records with Hurts

This is a very premature assessment.

With one third of the regular season gone, Hurts has 276 yards net rushing. That's second on the team nestled between Harris (356) and Jacobs (250). Presuming he continues on this pace, he'll approach 1,000 yards for the full season. When you look at career QB rushing numbers (the record book includes the Great Harry Gilmer with a footnote because, although he was a single-wing halfback, he was the primary passer), he has the potential to compare well with their career numbers. Remaining healthy, all but Gilmer look achievable.

Career 1,000 yard rushing QBs (and their rank among all 55 career Bama 1,000 yard rushers):
17 . Harry Gilmer (1944-47) 2,025
31 . Walter Lewis (1980-83) 1,433
34 . Steadman Shealy (1977-79) 1,395
39 . Richard Todd (1973-75) 1,254
43 . Tyler Watts (1999-2002) 1,128
46 . Pat Trammell (1959-61) 1,119

I think he can do it. I love the way he follows his blockers when he comes around the corner... looks old school.

But i would rather see him get more comfortable with throwing to his receivers on time. What I like the most about him is how engaged he appears to be in the process and that he seems teachable. What a great attitude to have as a player. I'm sure it makes the coaches feel good about their decision at this point.
