Guys, go over to rollbamaroll.com and scroll down to the video of Roy Upchurch scoring a TD versus Virginia Tech and click to play it. As that clip ends and you are offered some additional clips to view, scroll across to the one of Upchurch making a block versus Auburn (as you scroll across the clips they are identified with text). It should be the third clip in the new series.

Watch this clip of Arenas returning a punt against Auburn all the way through - and then watch it again.

Upchurch absolutely destroys #74 for Auburn at the very end of the return. I do not remember the hit, but I am darn sure #74 remembers it . That is if he remembers anything from that moment forward.

And earlier in the return, #3 (Chris Rogers) levels TWO Auburn players. On the television replay of the return, from an end zone view, you can see Rogers setting up one player for a "kill" shot and then the result as he delivers two such hits.

Great stuff.

 great stuff indeed.

i wonder if #3 wasn't Richardson though, since he did participate on special teams too. i saw Richardson make several nasty hits on special teams.

yea he blasted that fool, but I think that was either Richardson or Jackson that was #3. I dont remember Rogers ever wearing #3, he was #8 to start the year and ending it #1.

That clips shows fearless collisions at both ends of that play. I'm almost certain it's Rogers. He's leaner than Trent and the name looks shorter on his jersey on the replay.

Two things: that was definitely a block in the back on #55, I think it's Chavis Williams...and awesome find, I don't remember seeing that hit on TV, he absolutely laid the lumber. That looked like a hit you see on video games.

Also, FWIW, I think that's Kareem Jackson on that first hit. Thanks for sharing.

If you consider that a block in the back then there is a block in the back on every return.

That just doesn't get old, does it?

No, it doesn't. He just rocks a player that he's giving up at least 50 (maybe 70). It's been over 25 years and I still know that feeling. My middle son finished his football days this past fall, and we talked about the feeling you get when you light someone up. It's common ground that spans generations.

RTR,

Tim
