We can argue this until we're blue in the face (I think some of you are...); smoking pot around there is illegal. Just like hiring a hooker, marrying multiple wives at the same time, driving 100 on the interstate, killing someone you don't like, etc... We get on this argument every off-season. A crime is a crime.
These guys may not be the brightest bulbs in the closet, but they know right from wrong, and know this stuff is illegal. And that there are consequences to pay if they get caught. Just like any other crime. I for one, wish we'd clean up the drug use inside our program. Surprised we don't get more negative bashing about it, to be honest. We used to come on here and blow up Fulmer for suspending his punter for a quarter due to a second and third positive pot test. Are we doing much different now with guys like Tim and Rueben? Cam and Hootie had it with them at their arrest. Hard to convince me that there aren't more guys on the team who have failed tests and we didn't hear about it. I wish we'd clean the stuff up, even if it costs us some talent. We'd be ok in the long run and more respected. These guys know they are going to be tested and caught, and it doesn't stop them because they know there is little to no punishment. That needs to change.
I may be old school, but when did allowing students to break a law become mainstream and ok?
