🏈 Ro's downward spiral saga continues...

The "Pro's" must be smoking schwag if they're going for hours and are normal--which flies in the face of "Pro's."
In that same vein, guys that smoke a bowl and go full retard aren't getting in a car and driving the VAST majority of the time.

Shwag... LOL. Colorado full of full blown stoners and that work, drive, function constantly. An entire industry here dedicated to it. People moving here in droves... to become pro's.... and not in football.

And how do you think retard smokers get home? Uber?

See smokers constantly on the vape pen driving down the road or at stop lights. Only thing I'm worried about is them driving to slowly.

There are many distractions that can cause wrecks. Dropping your joint between your legs while driving is one of them.
There are many reasons for running stop signs. Stoned smoking hashish is one of them.
There are some distractions for driving 10 miles or more past your exit. Driving while stoned is one reason.
There are only 2 reasons I can think of for your car to smell like chicken shit the morning after. One is to smoke a reefer in your car the night before. The other reason of course is for a chicken to shit in your car.
We are a nation of differing laws depending on which state you live in or visit or pass through. If anybody doesn't like the laws where they live or federal laws of our country, then go to work to help change those laws or be prepared suffer the consequences if caught breaking any law.

Yeah but its almost possible to know if Marijuana is the cause of an accident. Just becuase its in someone's system doesn't mean they were high when they were driving. It could still be in your system even though you haven't smoked for two weeks. Until they come up with a better way of knowing whether someone is actually high DURING an accident these studies are kind of useless.

Regardless its stupid to take any mild altering substance while operating a vehicle, period.

How unexpectedly cogent.

I concur.

And there's where the "under the influence" argument becomes murky and misunderstood. The high that comes from one drug, compared to another--*and we have to include alcohol--last different lengths of time. Same with weed. BUT, now we're opening another door to the difference between the high with Indica and Sativa--and it's substantial.

To your question, I don't know.

* I'm saying when you're drunk, you're drunk. In six hours, still drunk. Different with weed.

I am no expert but I can draw some conclusions from my own lifes experiences and from a few of my closet lifetime friends.
This will probably not make much sense to virgin ( non smokers ) people and maybe not for tokers either. Remember back before your first high from reefer. A mental state I will call "ordinary reality". Imagine a vertical line drawn between ordinary reality and the " euphoric state of reality " after your first reefer, I will call a " heightened state of being ". That high lasts for a few hours and then your MIND comes down from the high, but the residue chemicals remain for quite some time in your body. I will say that a great number of people who try reefer like it and become regular users. Here comes the main point of this writing. Over a period of regular or chronic use, and I don't know how long it takes for enough buildup of chemicals inside your body to change you, but over time, your personality DOES change and short term memory is also affected as well as other mental and sometimes physical changes, can and do happen in some people. The longer you smoke, that line between " ordinary reality " and the " heightened state of reality" becomes blurred, or moves if you will, toward your body and mind being on or across that line all the time, although your mind only feels high after you smoke a reefer. For those people who become habitual or chronic users, they are changed forever and their mind will never revert back across that line to " ordinary reality ", even after giving it up for many years. Although if a person quits smoking, their mind wont feel that euphoric feeling of being high, their mind and body will always be in that different, " heightened state of being ". I also believe this is true with the habitual use of other drugs, although thankfully, I have little to no experience with those.
This is no more than a rambling of an ex user, may not be worth 2 cents.

@footballer There isn't enough research to back up a lot of what you've said. It's a big "we don't know" from the FDA.

As example, there are studies with smoking and testing short term memory and those that were given placebo's had slower reaction times, and worse retention.

Sir, I have done my own research for more than 30 years. I have very little faith or trust in the FDA or any of the " professionals" performing the studies and doing testing.

I don't need another chance.
If you intend to provide evidence that pot uniquely poses an empirical and measurable danger on the road and/or in society, yes you do.
Many groups and organizations stipulate to the point.
Sure they do, but critical thinkers think critically and challenge authority and dogma.
I don't need to go mining for data for something that's obvious.
So obvious that you can't rebut my replies. So obvious that your own government source disqualifies itself and supports MY argument.
You apparently have more invested in this argument.
Yep, like the truth about power. And yes, I've been affected indirectly by addiction. I've also been affected by families torn apart by the Drug War. As a libertarian, I naturally oppose unjust use of power. As a historian I'm naturally curious about the origins of policies, long-ranging effects of policies, and who benefits/suffers from policies. If you knew the historical origins and devastating consequences of drug prohibition, maybe you'd question the status quo too. Just like liberals, conservatives often cannot imagine life without entrenched government policies ... despite the fact that life somehow survived just fine before the interventions were first implemented.
Waste of effort to try to turn you.
Probably, if you are of the persuasion that the burden of proof rest on freedom. I come from the camp that says the burden of justification rests on authority. To compel or restrain requires justification, not to liberate. Freedom is the default human condition. So yes, if you think man-made authority is the author of your freedom, our debate is indeed a waste of time.

And what point exactly is this article supposed to buttress? Again I'm wondering if you read your link completely.

We can argue this until we're blue in the face (I think some of you are...); smoking pot around there is illegal. Just like hiring a hooker, marrying multiple wives at the same time, driving 100 on the interstate, killing someone you don't like, etc... We get on this argument every off-season. A crime is a crime.

These guys may not be the brightest bulbs in the closet, but they know right from wrong, and know this stuff is illegal. And that there are consequences to pay if they get caught. Just like any other crime. I for one, wish we'd clean up the drug use inside our program. Surprised we don't get more negative bashing about it, to be honest. We used to come on here and blow up Fulmer for suspending his punter for a quarter due to a second and third positive pot test. Are we doing much different now with guys like Tim and Rueben? Cam and Hootie had it with them at their arrest. Hard to convince me that there aren't more guys on the team who have failed tests and we didn't hear about it. I wish we'd clean the stuff up, even if it costs us some talent. We'd be ok in the long run and more respected. These guys know they are going to be tested and caught, and it doesn't stop them because they know there is little to no punishment. That needs to change.

I may be old school, but when did allowing students to break a law become mainstream and ok?

I could not agree more. Amazing how defensive people get when you call their favorite player out for being a pot head or anything else for that matter. Pretty sad either way they look in a different direction when it's their guy versus another team's guy. And here I sit thinking theae programs really do what to turn these boys into men and push them to be successful.
