It hasnt gotten the attention since it doesnt have the eye popping numbers, but it hasnt been entirely ineffective and I can see it making a big impact down the line.

I mean the Dolphins are still using it...very effectively from what I have seen.

So, will we see some more wildcat now that SEC play is beginning for us?

Or has it been scrapped?

^^ What he said with this addition...

I don't think we'll need to use it much this weekend. Quite frankly, I don't think Arkansas will be able to stop us running (basic set, or pistol) even when they know we are about to run—who is running—where they are running—and are standing there when we do run—only to be run over.

So basically what you're saying is, Arky could could huddle with our offense before every play and it wouldn't matter?

Something I find interesting about this weekend. Last year, JP had only 11 pass attempts for less than 80 yards against Arky. I wonder if McElwain takes the same approach with GMac?

I've wondered the same.

If this weekends game mirrors last years where have more rushing yards than they have total yards, I suspect it will.

Hell, Coffee and Upchurch only carried the ball 17 times, combined, last year. Of course, you add the fact that they also had 250+ yards combined on those carries...

We'll probably only use the wildcat primarily for "emergency" situations. Like say if by some miracle Arkansas stops our running plays from our basic formations.

As Terry eluded to, and that's putting it mildly, it'll be about as probable as Auburn winning the West. Yeah I had to get a jab in there for the Auburn homers.

Well that makes sense, I guess I just had to ask because we havent seen it and noone is talking about it anymore. Thats some gold right there though.

You know, with McElroy in there, I think its POSSIBLE we hit 60 with or without it, if hes in there the entire time.

I know 40 is likely, and 50 is probable too.

Im just kinda wanting to see more of the formation though, I am a little worried that if we go without using it early on, it wont be polished later. So I want to use this game as an opportunity to test new things on O.

Might not be entirely reliable if everything works though :lance:

Not seeing it on Saturday doesn't mean it won't be polished when you do.
