🏈 Reports: LSU suspends DB Mills after arrest for punching woman in the mouth.

LSU junior defensive back Jalen Mills was suspended indefinitely by the team after he was arrested early Wednesday on a second-degree battery charge for allegedly punching a woman in the mouth, according to multiple media reports.

Mills, who had started all 26 games over two seasons for the Tigers, turned himself in to police and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.

According to the police report, both the victim and a witness told police that Mills punched the victim in the mouth after she had knocked on the door at his apartment complex at 1 a.m. on May 4 while looking for her friend. The police report said the victim was left "briefly unconscious" and suffered a cut that required four stitches.

Mills was being held on $7,000 bond and has been prohibited from contacting the victim, police told the Times-Picayune.

Mills had three interceptions last season and was third on the team with 67 tackles.

LSU defensive back Jalen Mills was arrested early Wednesday morning for second degree battery, Redsticknow.com reported. Mills reportedly punched a female victim in the mouth last month at his Highland Road apartment complex.

According to a Baton Rouge Police warrant, the victim told police she was visiting the complex and knocked on Mills door. He opened the door and then closed it in her face so she knocked again. She walked away but said she heard someone say something and when she turned, Mills punched her in the mouth.

She was kncoked unconscious and fell to the pavement, the report said. FOur stiches were required to close the cut on her lip.

Mills was identified in a 6 person line-up by the victim as the person who punched her, Redsticknow.com reported. A witness also came forward and corroborated the victim's statement, stating Mills was the one who punched the female victim.
Mills was contacted May 29th about the incident and told police he was in Houston and would not return to Baton Rouge until Monday, June 9, for summer school. Mills failed to show for an appointment Tuesday at 5 p.m., which Mills missed. He did not respond to telephone callls that day and a felony warrant was issued for his arrest for 2nd Degree Battery later that day.

Mills was taken into custody and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison about 2.a.m.

In cases like this a phrase often used is "let's consider the precedent of how things like this have been handled in the past."

So, based on that reasoning: Is it as bad as kicking an armed forces member in the head?

This is just too rich not to share.

If the story turns out to be true, Leslie will give him a suspension for a few games, then pat him on the ass and send him back out by the meat of SEC play. SMH

Oh, and I hope ya'll ready for Ricky Jefferson at the safety spot, at least for 3 to 4 games.

You really believe that homie? Mills isn't Jefferson, he will boot this dude from the Earth if it turns out to be true.

No doubt- Jefferson couldn't "hit" anything.

The attorney for suspended LSU defensive back Jalen Mills told USA Today Wednesday that his client did not punch the female victim in the alleged May 4 battery that led to Mills' arrest this week.

"He was not the person who struck the victim," Brent Stockstill said. "That would be consistent with some of the information I've received ... I've been contacted by several people that were there when the incident took place. And their version of what happened is not consistent with the arrest warrant."

Mills was arrested early Wednesday and charged with second-degree battery after the victim told police, per his arrest warrant, that following a confrontation at his apartment door Mills punched her in the mouth. Acording to the warrant, the victim and a witness who corroborated the account each identified Mills out of a six-person police lineup.

Stockstill said he had received differing accounts, suggesting the victim may have been punched by another woman over conflicting romantic interests concerning Mills.
Mills was released on $10,000 bond Wednesday afternoon and has been indefinitely suspended by LSU, with Les Miles saying he would not comment until the case's legal resolution.

The 20-year-old Texas native is a two-year starter who earned freshman All-American honors as a cornerback in 2012 before moving to safety late in the 2013 season. He was the Tigers' third-leading tackler in 2013 with 67 stops.
