I believe the problem will be more of finding someone who wants to work with Saban, rather than finding a quality coach. He's had a few say no thanks recently.
I get the impression that working under Saban is the equivalent to being an investment banker on Wall Street. The money is great and the opportunities are fine, but you better be prepared to work your ass off practically every day from dawn till dusk. You do that for a few years, make your connections, and then leave for something less stressful.
And I hate to say this, but as CNS gets older, potential new assistant coaches will view his age as a liability. I do think that his age contributed to the rather "meh" hirings this offseason. If this was 2015, we could have easily reeled in someone like Leonhard and Joe Brady. Thankfully though Saban looks very healthy. The dude is 71 and looks like he is 55. I remember my grandfather at 72, and he looked... old.
