Alabama will battle Louisville in the 2018 opener inside the recently-renovated Citrus Bowl in Orlando, sources have told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

Alabama & Louisville will open 2018 season (Sept. 1, 2018) in Orlando sources told @ESPN
11:06 AM - 31 Jul 2015

The contract between the two schools hasn’t yet been finalized. Alabama last played in Orlando during the 2011 Citrus Bowl, beating Michigan State 49-7.

Earlier this month, the Crimson Tide inked a deal to take on Florida State in the 2017 opener at New Falcons Stadium in Atlanta.

Ole Miss and Florida State will open the 2016 campaign in Orlando.

Maybe same one. Louisville can come up in the ACC without much problem. But that doesnt mean he will be able to duplicate Strong's success unless he can also make a defense to go with that offense. I read an article reranking the 2011 recruiting classes and Louisville was one of the best. Strong knew how to recognize and maybe better yet, develop talent.

We have Dallas in '19 and '20 and can be part of the bargaining of the opponent.
There was a report about a month ago that Auburn and Oregon had a deal set to play in Dallas in 2019. Unless they are planning on doing two games over a weekend (like ATL / Chic-Fil-A) did a couple of years ago '19 is out.

Their game is set for the last Saturday in August.

I was a little off but it looks like 2019 isn't off the board.

"The provision, according to AL.com, states that Alabama will "negotiate exclusively with ESPN in good faith through August 31, 2015 in an effort to schedule a football game between Alabama and a non-conference opponent to be held on August 31, 2019 or September 5, 2020 at the (AT&T) Stadium."

It reads 2019 OR 2020, not 2019 AND 2020. The Auburn-Oregon game is on August 31, so 2019 is out.

Now that I think about this...

2019/2020 was supposed to be against Ga. Tech in a home and home but that was "postponed." Tech killed their home and home with South Carolina at the same time as I recall.

Ooooooooooooooookay... I guess she forgot about Bridgewater. Whatever...

A report that the Louisville football team will face national power Alabama in a neutral-site game in Orlando in 2018 was exciting news for the mother of four-star quarterback Jawon Pass, the Cardinals' most highly regarded 2016 recruiting commitment who recently picked U of L over the Crimson Tide.

"Wow!" Kershena Thomas wrote in a message to The Courier-Journal. "I think a game like that would give Louisville an opportunity to show their true competitiveness as well as earn them the respect they are due. It would be a booster for the players, and I would love to see it."

Pass, whose brother Khane is a freshman safety at U of L, attends Carver High School in Columbus, Ga., right on the border with Alabama. Recruited primarily by U of L defensive line coach/Auburn, Ala., native L.D. Scott, Pass chose the Cards over Alabama and Auburn on July 16.
