🏈 Read this on the bleacher, for the Kiffen haters

What a load. Soon as I saw the Miami comment I knew where it was headed. Like comparing apples to oranges. This article is a rotten orange.

Kiffin is all about hype and drama - not talent (his own). His team, coaching staff, and recruiting success to date have all been spun by a web of hype and drama. He tried it in Oakland with a senile paranoid owner and was shown the door. Like in Oakland, in TN he claims to honor the tradition and history. BS. It's not true. Lane Kiffin only honors himself. His hype and drama will carry him for a time and it will generate emotion among his players and staff. And his Dad's presence will contribute to the hype and drama. And then it will end.

And then other coaches, teams, players, and recruits will begin to understand - that it is 3 parts hype and emotion to 1 part skill. And then they will become the Tampa Bay Bucanneers. Within in the next year or two they may take the hype and emotion to a high level and win the East. They may even become ranked in the Top 10 and play a part in BCS conversations, but then it will catch up. And it will start to modulate and they will become an above average team with the occasional big win. And then the recruits will also notice and they will settle in to the top 20, then top 40 recruiting classes. And then young Lane will become bored and want to try again elsewhere. And then TN will be looking for their Nick Saban all over again.

Mark my words - it will happen.

Poor Kiffin, first he opens his mouth and lets everyone know that he doesn't know the rules when it comes to recruiting. Then, he does it again and lets everyone know that he doesn't even know the rules of the game. Does this guy know anything? Kiffin will be pumping gas for a living in less than 2 years.

...and somehow, I thought it would be hard for UT to find a coach I could hate more than Phil Fulmer.

You know, I am GLAD we won that game the way we did. Had we blown them out, they would have gotten off easy. Losing by a blocked kick in the last second of the game...that makes the Viles wallow in their own misery thinking about what could have been.

This statement by Kiffin pretty much confirms 65's comments. Sorry if this has already been posted.

Quote from Kiffin last week: “I told the guys last night,’’ Kiffin said, “I don’t know all the Tennessee history and tradition, nor do I intend to. I know there are a lot of great teams in this conference.”

Funny article. Language is rough. Link to the article: http://loserswithsocks.com/2009/10/22/kiffin-and-tennessee-history/

With this I am moving on to LSU.

OP = Sour grapes man. Deal with it. Kiffin is and has been a LOSER. You LOST. You are SUPPOSED to be TENNESSEE and you are talking about MORAL VICTORY?

I suppose irrelevant teams, coaches and fans will have to stick to their moral victories. Meanwhile, Alabama will just have to be content with ACTUAL victories.

Pathetic post. Pathetic thread.

Grow up nancy.

Even with that being the case, it really doesn't matter. Lane Kiffin is the most popular man on the Tennessee campus. His players love him and they love his style.

You know, players "loved" Shula in his first two years also. Kiffin is well on track for significant penalties (reduced recruiting visits, fines, and one day scholarships). Once the sports car photo shoots wear off and the dust settles, then we'll see what the players and fans think of them. Playing to the lowest common demononator only works for so long.

Didn't a certain coach for the Falcons (Jim Mora,Jr) make the comment at a news conference that he would walk from Atlanta to to washington to take the UW job while he was still the head man with the Falcons? All that got him was fired. What in the hell was Saban supposed to say," yea I'm leaving tomorrow and the moving van is already packed. The BR will let anyone on there to put their biased opinion about anything, even a whiny azz Vol fan. Kiffin better hope his daddy stays healthy so he can get a few more "moral" victories. The novelty will wear off soon and everyone will see him for what he is, a smart azz wanna be coach.

Exactly. Kiffin is a marginal little man. He is a wild eyed little boy who is WAY out of his depth here in the SEC.

The "article" is a typical way of explaining behavior by trying to point out the flaws of others. Unfortunately, you can't explain away his childlike comments. I to was an ashamed fan while Shula was around. I think he had more common sense than Kiffin though. CMS showed respect to his opponents and Kiffin either can't or will not.

As to all the prognastications of Kiffins coaching tenure at TN, I would not speculate too much. TN is a great team this year and looks well coached in most areas but time will tell.

I would say he will have trouble getting high character atheletes with his reputation he is creating. Can you imagine a choice recruit talking to Kiffin then Saban and maybe Meyer. His one on one skills better be better than his public relation skills.
