$5,000 extra is a quite a bit for a college kid on a full ride. I'm glad the kids are getting a chunk instead of just adults/coaches/professionals associated with the universities.

That being said, no chance some smaller schools will be able to keep up. There will be an awkward period for the "have nots" until D1 athletics transitions into the big 5 era.
